There are several, several reasons I could give you to explain why Hugh Jackman is an amazing man. I’m kind of offended that you would ask, to be honest, but I’ll look over that right now. He’s amazing because of his beautiful voice, his adorable personality, and his swimming technique. Is that enough? If not, just take a look at that picture up there of Hugh Jackman going for a walk with his daughter and his dog, and tell me that “amazing” was not a word that came to your mind.
Still, if you’re not a kid person or a dog person, the chances are great that you are a chocolate person. And guess what! So is Hugh Jackman! Do you love him yet?
Let’s let him explain his new line of chocolates now, and then we can talk about it afterwards, all right?
Hugh Jackman is extending his business foray into the world of chocolate just in time for Valentine’s Day (14Feb12).
The X-Men actor and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness launched their new fair trade coffee company Laughing Man in New York City last October (11) and now the couple is expanding its line of offerings to include organic and kosher chocolates.
He tells CNN, “Each of these companies that we create, 100 per cent of the profits go to charities.
“It’s first and foremost about creating good products that people really want. Not that they feel like they should want it, but because they genuinely want it. And then being able to create jobs and support entrepreneurialism. That’s what inspired me, and I was waiting for the right opportunity.”
And Jackman is excited to finally be specialising in sweet treats, adding, “I eat a little bit of dark chocolate every day – I’d definitely say that it makes you feel good.”
I don’t really dig the whole Valentine’s Day fuss too much (I told my boyfriend all I wanted was a love letter written with ink on parchment, using beautiful calligraphy, to be no less than 2,000 words, and also maybe a teddy bear that’s as tall as me, so I’m like, a way chill girlfriend), but this is different. This is a beautiful gift from Hugh to you, and what makes it even more special is that you get to eat delicious chocolate and then feel good about yourself because you donated to charity. With that in mind, I’m going to change my original statement of “Hugh Jackman is an amazing man” to “Hugh Jackman is the greatest, smartest man who ever existed and it’s going to be his fault when I die from a chocolate overdose.”
