Rupert Grint, of the Harry Potter film series, is starring in a new show for CBS. Are we surprised by this? Because I’m a little surprised by this. I think it’s great, I just never would have pictured him as the type to star in a show on a major network.
It’s going to be shot as a single camera comedy. That’s so hot right now. Mr. Grint plays a nerd named Clyde who dreams of being a superhero but works in fast food. One day he receives an unexpected inheritence stipulating that every month he gets $100,000. He decides to be a real life superhero by using that money to help people. Wow that sounds boring. I’m going to pretend that instead of all of that, he plays a gay sex addict obsessed with Lord of the Rings and is having an affair with a closeted gay man, played by Hugh Laurie, who is married to the first female president of the United States. That sounds like a way better show. Come at me, CBS.
It’s titled Super Clyde and it’s from Greg Garcia who gave us Raising Hope. Was that show any good? I never saw it. Hey, best of luck to ya, Rupert!

See now, how nice is it to have one of the previous night’s posts about that darling (and f-cking hot) Daniel Radcliffe, only to wake up and find that the first post of the following day is also solely dedicated to Daniel? There should be more days like this in the week, my friends.
This time, I have even better news for you, if the news about Dan liking hairy snizatch didn’t just completely put you up over the top (it did me, that’s for sure). Turns out that the rumors about Daniel and Rupert Grint are completely untrue, and the two are actually good friends. From People:
There’s no bad blood between Harry Potter costars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.
Despite an interview that Radcliffe recently did that “was blown out of proportion,” the Woman in Black star says he and Grint, 23, are “very, very good friends.”
“It’s just ridiculous,” Radcliffe, 22, told On Air with Ryan Seacrest. “Someone said, ‘Are you in contact with Rupert and Emma [Watson] at the moment?’ And I said, ‘Emma and I have been texting recently, but Rupert and I never text.’ ”
Apologizing to fans who took the quotes the wrong way, he explains, “We have never texted each other in 10 years of filming. We just never have. We are lazy texters. We’ve never texted each other back. And we both know that’s how the other person is.”
But the big-screen besties make up for their lack of digital communication in person.
“I know that the next time I see Rupert, we’ll sit next to each other and chat, and it will be like old times,” Radcliffe says. “It will be fantastic … It’s just that we’re not constantly texting each other.”
So, see? They are BFFs, and doesn’t that kind of make the world a better place – just by that friendship existing and, you know, being genuine? When I first heard the news that Ron and Harry just weren’t that into one another, I didn’t sleep for a week. But now? Maybe I can sleep fitfully, and restart my tradition of falling asleep to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (which I stopped last night, because I found it to be extremely inappropriate, especially in light of pubic developments), but I just don’t know yet, guys. Even this kind of news – good news! – may never change how I feel, now, about Daniel Radcliffe.

Daniel Radcliffe has been a busy little man in the days since Harry Potter. He’s been filming and promoting terrifying movies, he’s starred in a Broadway show, he’s beaten an addiction to booze. He even got himself a lady and is thinking about becoming an archaeologist! But even with all of those activities, all of those obligations and relationships, he still manages to text Emma Watson, like, all the time.
Harry Potter fans prepare for a shocker.
The three stars of the film franchise are far from close buddies in real life, according to Hogwarts wizard DANIEL RADCLIFFE.
Dan – promoting his new flick The Woman in Black this week – revealed that while he does keep in touch with Hermione, er I mean EMMA WATSON, he’s hardly ever in touch with RUPERT GRINT.
Dan said: “There’s this idea that Emma, Rupert and myself are the best of friends who always hang out together.
“I’m just going to put out there, Emma and I text all the time but Rupert and I never text each other, we never see each other.
“If I see him every six months or so, it’s a friendly ‘hello, how’s things with you’ but that’s about it.”
Did that just hurt you as much as it hurt me? Did you have that same image in your mind that these three really are the best of friends, that they talk to each other on the phone at least once a week (always a three-way call, they don’t play favorites), and that when they’re all free, they get together and run around the forest with sticks for wands and recreate the magic that they all shared for so long? Because that’s what I always thought. How sad is it that they really do seem to play favorites? I wonder if Emma ever calls up Ron*?
I also went through all the pictures we have available of the Harry Potter kids, and I couldn’t find a single photo of Daniel and Rupert without Emma, and Emma is usually wedged in the middle. There were plenty of Daniel and Emma, as there were a good few of Rupert and Emma, but none of just the two boys. I even did a good ol’ Google Image search, and I found one picture of just Daniel and Rupert. Just the one. Does that mean anything? Am I reading way too much into this?
By the way, since Harry Potter wrapped up, Rupert has been painting elephants, doing arts and crafts for Tom Felton, and touching our hearts by performing Christmas miracles. Oh, and according to IMDB, he’s filmed one movie, is working on another, and is signed on for two more. All in all though, he doesn’t seem to be quite as busy as Daniel, so really what I’m saying is “pick up the goddamn phone, Rupert.”
*I’m absolutely sure Emma calls up Ron and she calls him up often. After you have two fictional children named Hugo and Rosie, you develop a bond that can’t be broken, and I won’t hear anything different.

From Contact Music:
Christmas came early for one British family after actor Rupert Grint escorted them to Florida for an all-expenses paid trip to the Harry Potter theme park.
Grint was heartbroken to hear about the grief-stricken Carters, who have been struggling to cope with the loss of their mother Denise, who died giving birth to her and her husband Steve’s fourth child in 2009.
… As an extra special surprise, Grint recently accompanied the group to Orlando to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios and gave them a personal tour of the rides and wand shops.
Family patriarch Steve Carter tells film-news.co.uk, “The best thing was the look on the kids’ faces. There are great memories and I know Denise was watching over us on the trip.”
Alright, friends. The moral of the story? If you’re not COMPLETELY enamored by Rupert Grint and his selfless, loving, thoughtful actions, then you have a cold, dead heart and I don’t even know why you bothered watching the video. Are you a Kardashian or something?
Anyway, Merry Christmas, folks! We’ll continue normal posting on Christmas Eve, but will be off Christmas Day, resuming our regular snark schedule on Monday morning. Have a safe and happy holiday, and if this video didn’t cheer you up, then check these photos out again. They’re sure to put a smile on your face

And I say “artiste” instead of plain old “artist” because “artiste” sounds way more important and fancy, and what better words are there to suit someone who’s well-known for wearing dress robes that look like this:
Am I right? Damn right I am.
But anyway, the *real* reason we’re talking about Rupert today is that he painted an elephant for the Asian Elephant Foundation. Yup. According to MuggleNet (which of course is high-up on my RSS feed):
Along with several other celebrities, Rupert has painted an elephant … to support the Asian Elephant Foundation and the proceeds will go to the said foundation as well as the Wildlife Reserves Singapore. The funds will pay for elephant hospitals and land for elephants to roam the wild.
The elephant Rupert painted will be displayed in Singapore for the Elephant Parade, the largest open-air art exhibition dedicated solely to saving the Asian Elephant.
This is Rupert‘s latest work of art:
And it’s completely awesome. Isn’t he just the best?

OK. How weird is it that RUPERT GRINT is TWENTY-THREE and HEIDI MONTAG is TWENTY-FIVE? Something about that just does not compute. Like, I remember watching the early Harry Potter movies thinking, “Man, that little Ron Weasley is such a cute little boy.” If you’d have told me that I might say something similar about Heidi-frigging-Montag at a little-girl age (because they’re almost the SAME FRICKING AGE), I would have said you were tripping on something really stupid, like a bright orange extension cord or something. I just can’t wrap my head around this, guys.
Regardless, this is Rupert Grint celebrating his twenty-third birthday in … Las Vegas, also. Like Heidi Montag. Why do I not want my imagination to get the best of me? No, but seriously, why does a small part of me think this entire shebang turned out kind of how Colin’s adventure to America in Love, Actually did? Because that’s exactly how I’m seeing it play out.
