Russell Brand and Katy Perry had a short courtship and after reading these quotes from Russell’s interview on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, I’m pretty sure that their marriage may be just as short.
Here are some of the sound bites:
Russell, a former sex addict, on his tamer life in the bedroom: “I can’t believe I used to have sex 20 times a week, especially now I’m married. But now I’m a bloody good gardener.”
On what it would be like for him to raise children: “I’m aware I have no recourse if they misbehave. ‘Expelled from school for drugs? Well done you’re on target.'”
On monogamy and shacking up: “It’s difficult getting used to one person and being in the same house everyday.”
On getting used to Katy’s lifestyle: “She takes ages to get ready. It’s unbelievable. I had no idea what went on, I was never normally around for that bit.”
So his sex addiction has turned into a gardening addiction, he’s not sure he’s capable of raising kids, he’s still not confident about living with one woman for the rest of his life and he had no idea what it takes to transform her from an average lookin’ lady to the sexpot we all know. Yup. Sounds like someone bit off more than they could chew to me.
I give ’em another year, tops. Do you think these two have a chance at lasting?
Oddly enough I think they stand a chance if he married her in the first place. A.) He’s not afraid of being a dick so if he wanted to get into her panties and she was playing chaste, he would have done anything short of marriage to do so, and B.) He’s a comedian, he’s going to say silly things in interviews that will lead everyone in every direction. He still has a bad boy image to protect. I’m sure everything he says is cleared by her, and ok with her.
If not…then thank anything! He’s disgusting! She’s hot! She can get anyone! He’s fucking lucky she even said yes!
I agree 100% with Molls – I’m shocked they made it this far.
I don’t understand why anyone would marry Russell Brand with the intention of keeping the marriage alive forever…he has such a wild track record, and it’s not like he’s at an age where he “has” to slow down.
He posted an extremely unflattering pic of Perry on Twitter…sans fards….I’m sure that didn’t get cleared by her, so why would his comments be??

Is spending hours getting ready I think you’re doomed.
I don’t think it’s about having to slow down as such. But I’m 35 and If I look at everybody I know of a similar age most of us are married. That includes one or two people I never thought would get married. I don’t necessarily think life is about finding that people shock you for making it this far as life is full of nice surprises like this, rather than shock. Plus nothing stays the same with people for ever and no doubt he was ready to settle down.
I love the joke about the gardening, but I take it as that, rather than a quote. I am sure with their money, they would pay a gardener.
I guess all guys are surprised about how long us ladies can take to get ready. Who ever said we had to rush and get ready in the time it takes a guy to shave? It’s standard stuff isn’t it.
I must admit, I don’t like it when the media speculates about the next celebrity break-up as I actually want people to be happy together.
