Leah Remini ending 21 year marriage

If you think like I do, the first thought you had when hearing about Leah's marriage ending was what a coincidence it is considering her best friend JLo just started the same proceedings.

But alas, this is no joking matter. Leah and her husband Angelo Pagan were together 29 years. 21 one of which were married.

The couple announced their shock split via a joint Instagram statement on Thursday and revealed 'why' their relationship broke down.

The former Scientologist, 53, married Pagan in 2003 and they share 20-year-old daughter Sofia Bella.

"Well, here we are. After 28 years together and 21 years of marriage, we have decided to file for divorce."

"This decision came after a lot of thought and care, and as hard as divorce is, we are approaching this with a positive outlook because we know it’s what’s best for us."

"We are proud of how we have worked through this together."

"Yes, we’re sad, and we’ve got some figuring out to do as we continue to move forward into our new normal—together still in many ways, and apart in some new ones."

the CIA is watching Taylor concerts closely

We all felt better after seeing Vienna was postponed because of terror talk.

The thwarted terrorist attack on a Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert in Vienna was intended “to kill a huge number, tens of thousands of people,” including Americans, according to the deputy director of the CIA.

At the annual Intelligence Summit just outside Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, David S. Cohen shared an update on the investigation into the planned terrorist plot earlier this month, which resulted in the pop star canceling all her shows in Austria’s capital.

“They were plotting to kill a huge number, tens of thousands of people at this concert, I am sure many Americans,” Cohen said, as reported by The New York Times. “The Austrians were able to make those arrests because the agency and our partners in the intelligence community provided them information about what this ISIS-connected group was planning to do.”

On Aug. 7, Austrian concert promoter Barracuda Music announced that the three Eras Tour shows scheduled at the Ernst Happel Stadium would be canceled over an apparent terrorist plot. Austrian authorities have since arrested three people accused of plotting the attack, including one who was found with bomb-making material.

Cohen emphasized they had no doubt that the goal of the plot was to attack the Eras Tor show, killing a large number of concertgoers.

Weeks following the cancellation of the shows, Swift broke her silence on the planned attacks, as well as expressed gratitude to the authorities. “Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating,” she wrote on Instagram. “The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows.”

The superstar continued, “But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives. I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together.”

Cohen did not share how the C.I.A. learned of the planned attack. The Times reported that 200,000 people were expected to attend Swift’s Vienna shows.

Babe Ruth Jersey sells for insane amount

I'm no baseball expert, but I certainly know who Babe Ruth is. Hell, there's a candy bar named after him. But I would have fainted had I been at the Heritage Auction house this week when Babe's Jersey went on the block.

The jersey, which Babe famously wore one night in the 1932 World Series when he took his bat and pointed out where his next home run would go. And then successfully hitting that ball out of the park, just where he predicted.

This week it sold for $24.12 million. Now the most expensive memorabilia item in sports.

"This is essentially the Mona Lisa," said Heritage Auctions director of sports auctions Chris Ivy. "It's s a very mythical moment that crosses over not only in baseball history, but American history, pop culture history. We're still talking about it 100 years later, which is one of the reasons why I think it's the most significant piece of sports memorabilia in the world. When it hits that new record, high tide raises all boats. I think more people are going to be interested in this hobby."

‘Pommel Horse Guy’ Stephen Nedoroscik joins DWTS!!

If you saw any of the Olympics, I hope it was the moment Stephen 'The Specialist' Nedoroscik took the stage to give a flawless performance on the pommel horse.

He was adorable and charming and mysterious and people everywhere were talking about him. So how should he parlay that fame? Reality TV, of course. Dancing With the Stars!

The casting was announced on Thursday's episode of ABC's "Good Morning America." Nedoroscik is the first celebrity contestant named for the season, which premieres Sept. 17 on ABC and Disney+. He's also the first male gymnast to compete, "Good Morning America" co-host Robin Roberts said.

"I want to bring some of that gymnastics, maybe a backflip or handstand," Nedoroscik said on the morning show. "I want to have fun with it."

"The memes are hilarious and I'm loving them all," the Penn State engineering graduate told The Associated Press in Paris.

The newest season of "Dancing With the Stars" will be the show's 33rd. It's co-hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, and judged by Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough. The rest of the celebrity cast will be announced at a later date, ABC said in a release.

The DNC featured a musical salute to each state!

Who said political functions can't be fun!

DJ Cassidy and the Democrats played special tracks for each state and territory during Tuesday night's roll call.

But what song — or songs, in some cases — repped your state? We found them all so you don't have to. Better yet, we offer some reasons behind the choices.

Alabama: Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd

While Lynyrd Skynyrd's ode to Alabama might seem like an obvious choice, the band was formed in Jacksonville, Fla.

Alaska: Feel It Still - Portugal. The Man

The rock band is from Wasilla, Alaska, where two of its members met in high school and began playing music together.

American Samoa: Edge of Glory - Lady Gaga

The song choice is a tongue-in-cheek nod to the territory's position as the southernmost territory in the United States.

Arizona: Edge of Seventeen - Stevie Nicks

Singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks, known for both her solo career and her work in the band Fleetwood Mac, is from Phoenix.

Arkansas: Don't Stop - Fleetwood Mac

Speaking of Nicks, her band's track "Don't Stop" became the official song of Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign, with the band even uniting to perform at the former president's first inaugural ball. Clinton is famously from Hope, Arkansas, and served as the state's governor from 1979 to 1981 and again from 1983 to 1992.

California: The Next Episode - Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg,
California Love - Tupac Shakur, featuring Dr. Dre, Alright - Kendrick Lamar, Not Like Us - Kendrick Lamar

Nearly all of the above artists are legendary California musicians, with Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar born in Compton, and Snoop Dog born in Long Beach. Only Tupac does not count himself among the native Californians, having been born in New York City.

Colorado: September - Earth, Wind & Fire

Philip James Bailey, one of two lead singers of Earth, Wind & Fire, was born in Denver. What's more, he turned to Denver East High School friends Larry Dunn and Andrew Woolfolk to shore up the band after some original members left, according to the Colorado Music Hall of Fame.

Connecticut: Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours) - Stevie Wonder

It’s “kind of a perfect campaign song,” as Chris Willman, the chief music critic at Variety, notes on Morning Edition. Wonder is from Michigan, but that didn’t stop Barack Obama from making “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” a hallmark of his two presidential campaigns.

Delaware: Higher Love - Kygo & Whitney Houston

Higher Love has been a staple of President Biden's campaign, with the track playing at the end of his 2020 acceptance speech.

Democrats abroad: Love Train - The O'Jays

Trains? Travel? Abroad? Sure, why not.

Washington, D.C.: Let Me Clear My Throat - DJ Kool

The legendary rapper was born and raised in our nation's capital.

Florida: I Won't Back Down - Tom Petty

Tom Petty was born in Gainesville, Florida. His “American Girl” was also used by Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Georgia: Turn Down For What - DJ Snake and Lil Jon

Lil Jon made a surprise convention appearance to express his support for Kamala Harris. The rapper is from Atlanta, while DJ Snake, his counterpart on the track, is from Paris.

Guam: Espresso - Sabrina Carpenter

The summer hit, which has over a billion streams on Spotify, is one of several songs that may have been chosen simply for their mass appeal — and understandably so. In June, Carpenter became the first artist since The Beatles to have two songs debut within the top three spots on the Billboard Hot 100.

Hawai’i: 24K Magic - Bruno Mars

R&B and funk musician Mars is from Honolulu, Hawai'i.

Idaho: Private Idaho - The B-52's

"Private Idaho" was a single off the Georgia band's second album, though they didn't play a show in the state of Idaho until 2011.

Illinois: Sirius - The Alan Parsons Project

"Sirius" was the walk-on music for Chicago's NBA team, the Bulls.

Indiana - Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough - Michael Jackson

Jackson was born in Gary, Ind. — the eighth of 10 children.

Iowa: Celebration - Kool & The Gang

A classic party anthem, Kool & The Gang actually hail from New Jersey. Meanwhile, Iowa passed on their hometown heroes of the band Slipknot.

Kansas: Carry On Wayward Son - Kansas

The band Kansas was formed in the state in 1973, hailing from its capital city of Topeka.

Kentucky: First Class - Jack Harlow

Rapper and singer Harlow was born in Louisville, Ky., and raised in Shelbyville.

Louisiana: All I Do Is Win - DJ Khaled

Rapper and producer DJ Khaled is from New Orleans.

Maine: Shut Up and Dance - WALK THE MOON

It’s a universally-adored pop hit, even if the state did borrow it from a Cincinnati, Ohio, band.

Maryland: Respect - Aretha Franklin

Using an anthem by the queen of soul — with roots in Tennessee and Michigan — is the only reason we can think of to pass on Billie Holiday, Toni Braxton and David Byrne, who are among other talent with Maryland ties.

Massachusetts: I’m Shipping Up to Boston - Dropkick Murphys

The American Celtic band was formed in Quincy, Mass. The song itself describes a sailor with a missing leg, who is going to Boston in search of a wooden prosthetic.

Michigan: Lose Yourself - Eminem

The rapper famously grew up in Detroit and his 2002 movie 8 Mile is set in the Motor City.

Minnesota: Kiss - Prince & The Revolution, 1999 - Prince & The Revolution

The celebrated musician was born in Minneapolis, Minn., in 1958. The singer also died in his home state in Paisley Park in 2016 at the age of 57.

Mississippi: Twistin' the Night Away - Sam Cooke

One of the most influential soul singers of all time, Cooke was born in Clarksdale, Miss.

Missouri: Good Luck, Babe! - Chappell Roan

The 26-year-old from Willard, Mo., has found herself on a meteoric rise to stardom following the release of her 2023 album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.

Montana: American Woman - Lenny Kravitz

Several of the songs remaining in the DNC roll call playlist veer towards simply keeping the party going, with no obvious ties between the tracks and their assigned states. But these hits are on-brand for a party building momentum around the goal of putting a woman in the White House.

Nebraska: Firework - Katy Perry

Fireworks evoke the classic American pageantry of the fourth of July. Weirdly, this pick makes sense, though we've been unable to find any relationship between pop star Perry and the state of Nebraska.

Nevada: Mr. Brightside - The Killers

The rock band formed in Las Vegas in 2001 by Brandon Flowers and Dave Keuning.

New Hampshire: Don’t Stop Believin' - Journey

A classic "keep on truckin'" anthem for a party dead set on reinvigorating its voting base.

New Jersey: Born in the U.S.A. - Bruce Springsteen

"The Boss" is famously from Long Branch, N.J.

New Mexico: Confident - Demi Lovato

The singer-songwriter was born in Albuquerque, N.M.

New York: Empire State of Mind - Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys

The song serves as an ode to New York City by the two artists, who are from Brooklyn and Manhattan respectively.

North Carolina: Raise Up - Petey Pablo

The rapper and record producer is from Greenville, N.C.

North Dakota: Girl on Fire - Alicia Keys

Another feminist anthem on the strength and resilience of women. This tracks.

Northern Mariana Islands: Ain’t No Mountain High Enough - Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell

Harris is climbing the metaphorical mountain — and breaking glass ceilings, as Hillary Clinton reminded us on Night 1.

Ohio: Green Light - John Legend featuring André 3000

Legend was born in Springfield, Ohio, while André 3000 hails from Atlanta.

Oklahoma: Garth Brooks - Ain't Goin' Down ('til the Sun Comes Up)

Country singer Brooks is from Tulsa.

Oregon: Float On - Modest Mouse

The rock band was formed in Issaquah, Wash., in 1993, but is now based in Portland, Ore.

Pennsylvania: Motownphilly - Boyz II Men, Black and Yellow - Wiz Khalifa

Vocal group Boyz II Men is from Philadelphia, with the music video for "Motownphilly" filmed across locations in their home city. Wiz Khalifa's "Black and Yellow" is about growing up in Pittsburgh, Pa. The colors represent that city's NFL team, the Steelers.

During their 2011 Super Bowl match-up against the Green Bay Packers, the team used the track as their fight song, while their opponents used a remix, "Green and Yellow," as their own.

Puerto Rico: Despacito - Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee

Both Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee hail from San Juan, Puerto Rico. A remix of the hit track featuring Justin Bieber was released in 2017.

Rhode Island: Shake it Off - Taylor Swift

Swift owns the single most expensive home in the state of Rhode Island — an entire estate called High Watch, which she purchased in 2013.

South Carolina: Get Up I Feel Like Being A Sex Machine - James Brown

James Brown was born on May 3, 1933, in Barnswell, S.C.

South Dakota: What I Like About You - The Romantics

I guess South Dakota is stoked about their candidate, who's saying "all the things that I wanna hear."

Tennessee: 9 to 5 - Dolly Parton

Country music star Dolly Parton was born in Pittman Center, Tenn., and currently lives just outside of Nashville. Her Dollywood theme park and resorts are located in Pigeon Forge.

Texas: TEXAS HOLD EM' - Beyoncé

This one's a little self-explanatory.

Utah: Animal - Neon Trees

The rock band formed in Provo, Utah, in 2005.

Vermont: Stick Season - Noah Kahan

The 27-year-old is from Strafford, Vt.

Virgin Islands: VI to the Bone - Mic Love

The rapper hails from the Virgin Islands.

Virginia: The Way I Are - Timbaland featuring Keri Hilson and D.O.E.

Timbaland is from Norfolk, Va., while Keri Hilson is from Decatur, Georgia, and D.O.E. is from New York.

Washington: Can’t Hold Us - Macklemore and Ryan Lewis

The rapper is from Kent, Wash., while Ryan Lewis is from Spokane.

West Virginia: Take Me Home, Country Roads - John Denver

While Denver is from New Mexico, his hit song describes the natural beauty of West Virginia, including the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah River.

Wisconsin: Jump Around - House of Pain

The 1992 hit is played at University of Wisconsin home football games as students and fans jump and cheer, becoming synonymous with the state's flagship university.

Wyoming: I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas

A classic party hit to close out the roll call, while also reiterating that the party is fully standing behind their recently-appointed candidate. Seems like they've got a good feeling about her.

/> Who said political functions can't be fun! DJ Cassidy and the Democrats played special tracks for each state and territory during Tuesday night's roll call. Danielle Fishel of Boy Meets World reveal illness

The new Boy Meets World fans were dreading to hear was that absolutely anything is wrong with out beloved Topanga. But life isn't perfect.

Danielle, 43, shared that she was recently diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer called ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), in the latest episode of her podcast Pod Meets World, released on Monday, Aug. 19.

“So I would like to share something with our listeners … I was recently diagnosed with DCIS which is a form of breast cancer,” the mom of two shared alongside her co-hosts Rider Strong and Will Friedle.

“It is very, very, very early. It's technically stage zero," Fishel added. “I was diagnosed with high grade DCIS with micro invasion. And I'm going to be fine, I'm having surgery to remove it.”

Fishel added that she is also having some follow-up cancer treatments.

“The only reason I caught this cancer when it is still stage zero is because the day I got my text message that my yearly mammogram had come up, I made the appointment,” the actress continued about her diagnosis.

“For some reason I had always thought [if I were diagnosed with cancer] I would suffer in silence. I would get the diagnosis, I would not tell anyone,” she said on the podcast. “I would tell only my small group and then I would just suck it up. And then when I'm on the other side of it then I would tell people.”

We're so grateful she caught everything early. I can not stress enough how important regular mammograms are. I have to force myself sometimes, but it's always over in 10 minutes and for the whole day I get to feel extra adult.

Blake & Ryans box office battle results

Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds are one of Hollywoods favorite couples, but this weekend the pair each had big films in the theaters. Whos movie brought in the most money over the weekend?

Obviously Ryans Deadpool movie is the bigger film, but it's been out for three weeks now. Blakes movie "It Ends w=With Us" was released this weekend and made a real showing for a romance film.

So who won? Deadpool, naturally. But not by much! Deadpool's weekend take was $54m where Blakes romance movie took in a respectable $50m.

It's all good new for the film industry which has been weak since before covid and needed a real summer turn out.

Deadpools total take in for the three weeks it's been out is roughly $545,000,000! Check out the top ten theater flicks. By the numbers. Shout out to Boxofficemojo for the grid.
