The Fez Speaks Out in Support of Lindsay

And no, I’m not talking about Steely Dan, one of the best bands in existence, either. Lohan’s ex-boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama (best known as ‘Fez’) is head-on tackling the issue at hand of his former girlfriend‘s substance abuse problem and consistent brushes with the law.

Valderrama spoke recently to Us Magazine and voiced his concern that no one seems to be helping Lohan, and that someone’s gotta step up to the plate:

“It [Lindsay’s behavior] troubles me. There’s nothing anyone can say anymore. Someone has to want to get better.”

So, uh, Fez, are you going to merely sit there and flap your gums about the problem? Are you just going to stand idly by, watching someone you once claimed to care about implode slowly, but surely? Because really — since you know her personally — if you’re not going to try and help the girl want some help, you have no business publicly discussing her personal affairs, like it or not.

  • Yeah, it's pretty sad that everyone seems to be all talk and no action about this issue. They all say Lindsay needs someone to help her, but no one seems to be willing to be that someone. I hope Wilmer reaches out to her.

  • As Wilder said, someone has to want to get better. All of the pleading in the world, all of the calls to set up therapist appointments, all of the dragging to rehab, etc. will NOT help someone get better.

    Get a Clue!

  • It doesn't sound like he's defending her, he's stating “she” has to want to get help, others can't do it for her.

  • As someone who has been dealing with an addict for years, the only thin you can do is throw your hands up… that was a very uninformed and immature comment you just made – about letting her.. he's not letting her do anything, she is doing it herself… And there isn't anything anyone can do at this point… it sucks, but that is addiction

  • How the hell do you “help someone want help”? There are thousands of people out there who would like to know. My friend managed to drink herself into a neurological disorder. I sure would have liked to been able to help her want help, but as far as I could tell that was an impossibility.

  • Oh please. In REAL life, if Lindsay wasn't a celebrity, she'd be in a gutter somewhere or in prison.

She has the money, means, and fame to get better. She's a child eating all the cookies in the cookie jar BECAUSE SHE CAN.

  • There is absolutely nothing you can say to someone as troubled as her. They will never admit they have a problem. They would rather die than admit there is anything wrong. Take it from me, who lost an aunt and a boyfriend to alcohol and drugs.

  • There is nothing as annoying as you one can say it is exactly. They will never admit that they have a problem. They would rather die than admit there would be anything wrong. Take it from me, who lost an aunt and a lover of alcohol and drugs.

  • Hey WOW did you notice the commenter above you ALSO lost an aunt and a lover to drugs? Quit spamming FFS.

  • As an alcoholic, I've certainly had fellow recovering alcoholics help me want help. It sounds odd but it can be done.
