According to Britneys new book, "The Woman in Me," shot to number one on Amazon Tuesday when word got out the book would detail an abortion she got back when she was dating Justin Timberlake.
Now People Magazine has confirmed that in the tome she explains it was because Justin didn't want to be a father. Which, by the way, can be a very mature decision to make, but should still be a mutual one.
In an excerpt, she reveals, “It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” Spears, now 41, says. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young."
"If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father."
Spears writes of her experience undergoing the abortion: “To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life."

Britney Spears' fans have not let up on their concern for her, even after her father lost his conservatorship.
The dedicated group are concerned for an array of reasons, but most recently because she seemed to go off radar.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Britney deleted her Instagram account -- something she's done many times -- at some point within the last 12 hours. For whatever reason, fans became alarmed, believing the deleted account meant Britney was in trouble ... and called the Ventura Co. Sheriff's Office.
It's unclear of authorities spoke with Britney herself or someone else in the home, but they left seemingly satisfied that all is ok.

Debbie Gibson knows about being a big pop star, but not on the massive scale of Britney Spears. Still, she has a perspective worth hearing out.
Debbie spoke to Pagesix and said “It’s very easy to kind of mock her social media posts. But I see somebody who is joyful and just dying to get out of that bubble. She’s a natural performer, so if she has to perform in her living room, on social media, that’s what she’s going to do.”
Spears often posts videos of herself dancing in her home, Gibson says she's hopeful the "Stronger" singer will make her way back to performing live for her millions of fans one day soon.

“It’s simply me living my life !!! this is what happens when you do a two week yacht island vacation … jumping from island to island is literally insane !!!” Brit wrote on instagram.
