Chaz Bono Really Needs to STFU

Remember, like, a week ago I included a link in one of our partner roundups claiming that Chaz Bono wanted to get together with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s ‘gender-bending’ daughter, Shiloh, in order to give her some confidence-boosting gems of insight and maybe some direction on who the best sex reassignment surgeons in LA are?

Well it turns out mama Angie isn’t having any of it. In a reveal to OK! magazine, a source close to Jolie claims she was pissed:

Angelina Jolie fumed when she was told that Chaz Bono had spoken about her daughter Shiloh in an interview.

“Angie really feels that her kids are off-limits,” says an insider. “People have been openly discussing Shiloh’s sexuality for a while, simply because she dresses like a tomboy. It’s ridiculous. She’s not even 5 and she’s already labeled as having a gender crisis? It’s upsetting to them – it would be to any parent.”

Angelina resents the attention Shiloh’s tomboy ways have attracted. “The way she sees it is that it’s perfectly normal for little girls to be tomboys when they’re that age,” says an insider.

First of all, that’s absolutely right – this LITTLE CHILD is FOUR YEARS OLD. Could you imagine what a gender identity conversation with a four-year-old would be like? No? Well I’ll explain it to you, because I have a three-year-old: it’d be like trying to explain the intricacies of Darwin’s Theory of Natural Selection, or the concept of dark matter. Seriously. Like, it’d go over that well.

My daughter wears Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sweatshirts with tutus, sneakers, and bows in her hair. She plays with dirt and Matchbox cars along with her baby dolls, pretend makeup kit, and Dora ballerina dress-up clothes. She’s obsessed with farming equipment, fire trucks, and tea parties with her stuffed animals. Her current favorite toy? A play toolbox complete with drillbits and drill. IT’S ALL NORMAL.

I know, Chaz, that you’re probably, like, desperate for fame, but aiming at a kid (and trying to give a child advice who’s so young that they probably still dream of the womb) is just ridiculous. You just need to keep your unsolicited advice to way-underage children to yourself, you bitch bastard.

  • Ummm.. there’s one thing you’re not taking into consideration. There are kids who know at that age they aren’t in the right bodies. A person knows… whether they are 40 or even 4. What is wrong is wrong. And Chaz didn’t say he NEEDED to speak with Shiloh and the Jolie -Pitts right now.. but extended his hand out, just in case in a few years, Shiloh wants or NEEDS to talk with someone who had dealt with feelings that others in her family never have had to deal with.

We are dealing with that exact situation right now in my extended family. My sister in law is dealing with this issue now. Her husbands child from another marriage had always had gender identity issues.. from the time she was at least 2. She was born biologically a boy, but never, EVER felt the outside matched the inside. After years of ALL of us knowing there was something different (thinking that the child was gay)… he came out and told his parents that he KNEW he was actually a she… at 7 years old. Now, at the age of 11, she is transitioning in a healthy environment. So don’t tell me that a 4 year old doesn’t know when something is wrong.

    • Ugh. Sarah is right – there is no fucking need to talk to a child about that.

And even if she is already having “gender issues” now, no one should be talking about it in the public eye, ESPECIALLY people who are not her parents. That’s just so stupid. I liked wearing baggy clothes as a kid and guys’ fashion was my thing…and I’m not a man on the inside or anything like that.

It’s sick that people are making assumptions just because their daughter wears collared shirts and tennis shoes instead of ballerina dresses, a-la Suri Cruise being whored out in the media princess style.

So how about you stick to your family issues and not worry about what a 4 year old little girl is going through, when you have absolutely no facts to go on? You don’t know that Shiloh feels that something’s “wrong”, or that the outside doesn’t match the inside. Ugh.

    • no need to talk to the baby or his mother or father:)
      1) she is 4
      2) who dresses the child is his mother and father
      3) was her parents choice to dress her like a boy and keep the hair short
      4) her parents wanted her to be different that is all
      5) the baby looks happy
      6) just saying

  • considering the other article referenced in this one is screaming about the kid being transgendered yr not doing yrselves any favours here. celebrity children ought to be off limits.

  • Have you ever considered the possibility of having an age appropriate conversation with a child? Or do you protect yourself from uncomfortable topics with the “let a child be a child” argument?

  • Um, yeah. He was asked a question and answered it. And that makes him a “bastard?” Dial it down a notch.
The “partner website” said in the story in question regarding Chaz’ comment – “Maybe it would be better to say “no comment” with regards to Shiloh, because you know that the media are going to blow it out of proportion.”
    Exactly.

  • Also, if you put up the link a week ago, I assume you read the story a week ago. How come it has taken you a week to get all militant over this?
