DJ Sues Taylor Swift Over Possible Groping

Taylor+Swift

Taylor Swift is, get ready for this, getting a lot of bad blood from one Colorado DJ. (Were you ready for it? And then when it happened, when you were hit with that awful pun, were you mad? I totally understand. I’m sorry.) Anyway, yeah, a Mr. David Mueller went to a meet-and-greet for Swift after her show, where he allegedly “grabbed her bottom” for a photo. Swift was not pleased, and had him kicked out. Now the DJ is suing her, because this accusation has resulted in him being fired. I wonder if they’ll make this into an Law & Order: SVU episode?

From CNN:

Mueller and Melcher [Mueller’s girfriend] greeted Swift and had their picture taken with her. That picture is at the center of the dispute.

Swift allegedly claimed that Mueller lifted her “skirt with his hands and grabbed her bottom.” Following her claim, Swift’s security team surrounded Mueller and Melcher and removed them from the concert grounds. Then after a string of phone calls between Swift’s management team and the station, Mueller was fired, the lawsuit alleged.

Mueller maintains he never inappropriately touched Swift. The DJ alleges someone else at the station told him he had “put his arms around her, hands on her bottom.”

“The contention that Mr. Mueller lifted up Ms. Swift’s skirt and grabbed her bottom, while standing with his girlfriend, in front of Ms. Swift’s photographer and Ms. Swift’s highly trained security personnel, during a company sponsored, VIP, backstage meet-and-greet, is nonsense, particularly given that Ms. Swift’s skirt is in place and is not being lifted by Mr. Mueller’s hand in the photograph,” said the lawsuit.

“The radio station was given evidence immediately after the incident. They made their independent decision,” Swift’s spokeswoman Tree Paine told CNN via email.

Can we at least see the photo and decide for ourselves?

No, we cannot. Here’s some more descriptions of it, though:

The lawsuit claims the photo was described as “damning” by Swift’s managers. But Mueller contends it is anything but.

In “the photograph, Ms. Swift is smiling and hugging Ms. Melcher. Although Mr. Mueller’s hand is behind Ms. Swift and therefore not visible, it is clear that her skirt is in place and is not being lifted by Mr. Mueller’s hand,” said the lawsuit. “Similarly, Ms. Swift’s hand is behind Mr. Mueller and therefore not visible.”

Well, okay then. Before this incident, Mueller had a 20+ career in radio and was making $150,000 per year.

Touching peoples’ butts without their permission isn’t cool. So, yeah if that happened, screw him. This whole thing sounds like some big misunderstanding that would happen to Larry David in Curb Your Enthusiasm, TBH.

  • That’s going to be very hard for him to prove him court- that she lied that he touched her inappropriately. It will be a he said she said. Even if the photo doesn’t show anything- that wouldn’t prove much as he may have done it just before or after the shutter went off.

      • Right…? it’s hard to prove a he said/she said. Thus he doesn’t have a very good case of proving she lied, just like you wouldn’t have a case against Obama if you tried (even less so as i’m sure you couldn’t even prove being in the same room)…

She isn’t suing him so she doesn’t have to prove it did happen, he has to prove she lied about it in a slander suit. You can’t sue someone for saying they lied without presenting evidence they lied. he said/she said won’t cut it.

  • Why would she claim that he did this if he is innocent? What benefit would it be for her to lie? Also, just because he has a girlfriend it doesn’t mean that his hand can’t penetrate the force field of her ass. There are plenty of men that do plenty of things their girlfriends would disapprove of.
