Oh guys. How is it possible that little Karreuche Tran, a virtual nobody before dating Chris Brown, can come off so cool, so collected, and so with it, when her counterpart (Rihanna, not Chris) comes off as idiotic, over the top, and immature in all of her interviews? Can I say something here? Seriously taking Chris Brown out of the equation (because seriously, Chris Brown), I think I like Karreuche Tran a whole lot more, and that’s not even taking the fact that she willingly dated a lady-beater into consideration, because that’s a horse of a different color altogether.
Karreuche did this interview with Vibe, and while a lot of it’s about Chris Brown, it’s still all pretty coherent and intelligent (again, when you forget about the thing being about Chris Brown). Here’s Karreuche on how she met her former boyfriend:
“I actually happened to do a random styling job out here in L.A. and that’s how we met. I didn’t expect it [the relationship] at all. We were friends for a while before we started dating.”
And Karreuche on what she feels today, after all’s been said and done, and if the two can ever reconcile and settle down together:
“I do care about him and I do love him. Family is very important to me, and I’ve always put it in my mind to remember that. For me, I’d love to meet somebody and grow and build a foundation, but I don’t want to even think about marriage right now. I can’t even get a clothing line out. … At the end of the day, he will always be a friend. We’ll always care about each other. We won’t allow that to interfere. Our business is business.”
Karreuche on Rihanna’s drama and all of the fighting over Chris:
“It’s a lot going on but it could be a lot worse. And that’s how I look at life. I take it for what it is. I move forward, grow from it and at this point, that’s what I’m doing. I’m not gonna sit and dwell and become consumed in that negativity because I could very much be that person, especially when things are so public and so thrown in my face. But like I said, things can be much worse. So I’m good.”
And last, on if she’d be willing to sit down with both Chris and Rihanna and air the whole shit out:
“For everybody, emotionally, that would just be way too much. I’m a very mature person so if the time ever did come where we would need to sit down and talk, I’d do it. I’m a mature person. I can work it out but that would be a lot. … Yeah, it would be a lot.”
Here’s the photo from the Vibe shoot, and personally, she’s one of those chicks who look way, way better without all of the makeup slathered on:
Who would you guys rather—Rihanna or Karreuche?
