DC Comics “The Batman” isn’t even set to release till 2022, but there may already be a spin off in the works.
“The Batman” stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne and the bizarrely cast Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, better known as Penguin in the DC universe.
Now Variety is reporting Colin was approached to play the character for HBO’s streamer service, Max.
The Batman director Matt Reeves and producer Dylan Clark will executive produce. If it happens. Which it may not. But there are talks.
The show would center on Penguin, of course, and map his rise to the top of Gothams crime world.
The Batman is still set to open in March 2022 with Robert Pattinson playing the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and Paul Dano as the Riddler.
