Taylor Swift is worth an estimated $200 million – an amount which I think we can all agree qualifies as “a shitload of money”. Her current beau, Calvin Harris, is worth about half that. Things are going really well for the couple, though there’s no talk of things getting any more serious just yet (unless you read unsubstantiated Internet reports that claim they’re already planning a wedding). The point is, when Taylor DOES get married, she won’t get a prenup. In fact, she’s vehemently against the idea, because it’s just SO not romantic.
From Hollywood Life:
Taylor believes in fairytales again, thanks to Calvin, and a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that she’s so in love with him, she may marry him without drawing up a prenuptial agreement. “Taylor hates the idea of having a prenup when she gets married. She thinks it’s so unromantic — it’s like giving up before you even start. When she gets married, she wants it to be forever, no prenup required.”
We totally get why Taylor wouldn’t want to plan for a possible divorce — total buzzkill. But, our source is quick to point out that Tay Tay’s management will be pushing for a hefty legal document. “Her dad and her whole money team are going to want her to sign one, of course. But Taylor just thinks the whole topic is so distasteful — they’ll be fighting her on it.” This is one fight Taylor might be better off losing.
“Taylor and Calvin plan to be together forever, but when you have as much money as they do, you have to be practical. Their attorneys aren’t taking any chances. It could be the biggest prenup Hollywood has ever seen!” Wow, with that much money on the line, it would be completely crazy not to sign a prenup.
I mean, this is all so LOL-worthy, I don’t even know what to say. I’m actually rendered speechless. The fact that Taylor would be so dumb so as not to protect her assets is just… wow, it’s a new level of idiocy. The fact that she would think marrying Calvin Harris is a good idea is another new level of idiocy. Part of me hopes they go through with it just so we can all be witness to such a spectacular disaster.
