Let’s Hope They Don’t Spend The Day Being Terrorized Because Of Their Parents

The Gosselin sextuplets boarded the bus for the first time with their older siblings, Cara and Mady who are starting third grade today. Earlier in the week, the six younger children were accompanied to school by both Jon and Kate who left them at their pre-Kindergarten class where they will spend three days a week learning simple math, mastering the alphabet and probably getting harrassed by other students because their family is such a freak show.

The truth is, the sextuplets are a year behind in school. They’re five, which should mean that they are entering regular kindergarten, but Jon reported that they are slow to start because they were prematurely born. Yeah, and it probably helped to have them at home while filming a television show about them.

  • Well I’m sure the fact that TLC was making millions by having them at home for an extra year helped too…. in school means less usable footage for J&K+8.

  • Unless they take the stupid cameras to school with them… If I was a parent of a child in their class and they pulled that bullshit, I’d pound down the school district’s doors and wig out on them for invasion of my child’s privacy.

  • These kids are smart enough to figure out the tention that their “this divorce is a healthy thing for the kids now that we don’t bicker over dumb ass things such as breathing anymore” parents, Jon and Kate. Those two were so fake at the bus stop anyone could see that! And Kate so needed Steve there too. If the show is so great to give up your marriage, I guess the fringe benefits of everything else is so well worth it. Take the money you are all making and stick it up your asses!

  • I really wouldn’t count that as a year behind. A lot of parents choose to start their children at 6 for various reasons. Point is, starting real kindergarten a year from now will not be one of their setbacks.

Their psychotic famewhore mother and pothead dbag dad on the other hand, might be.

    • Tell me about it – my kids started on the 21st. It’s been a looooong time, but I don’t think I ever went back until after Labor Day.

  • Slow to start because they were preemies!? BS! Preemies catch up by age 2! Defnitely has something to do with the dolla dolla bills mommy and daddy are raking in. And only 3 days a week? Why not 5? Oh yeah, cause they’ve got to keep the cash cow going. Nice….Where do we nominate those two for Parent of the Year?

    • Actually the may be starting a year late because some of them may be developing slower because they were premature and because they had to share the uterus with five other fetuses. Kate and jon may have wanted to keep them together by waiting until all six were ready to start.

    • You have no idea what you are talking about. Prematurity effects children differently and not everyone catches up by two. Perhaps you would feel differently if you were parent to a preemie.

      • Um, gee, I do happen to be the parent of a preemie and for 6 long weeks spent every single day at the hospital in the NICU with my son. And then had the pleasure of all of his follow-up doctor visits once he was home-sometimes 4-5 a week. So, yeah, I *might* just know a thing or two about preemies.

  • Funny how Jon bashing is all the rage now, I want all of you losers to look at your posts just 6 months ago. You saw nothing but sympathy for Jon, some even encouraging him to find another woman or worse yet offering themselves..now that he’s done that he is a dbag?…you people need to pick a side and stay on it…typical flip floppers..

    • Six months ago it wasn’t clear how he would react once he became free of She Who Must Be Obeyed. Now it is clear. He may love his kids but he is having the second adolescence of his hopes and dreams, with no apparent concern for the impact of his behavior on his children.

He used to seem like the sympathetic victim and now he is revealed as one very immature man.

      • There’s nothing wrong with changing your mind when confronted with new and different evidence…

  • I doubt the kids will be made fun of at school. I don’t think other 4 and 5 year olds are even going to know anything about them. And if they do happen to watch their show, then I doubt they read the tabloids. I couldn’t tell if you were joking about that.

    • Yeah I was thinking the same.
Really can’t stand Molls’ writing. Her stories are so dumb. She just makes shit up.

  • these kids are not slow or behind from premature birth. they don’t care if u can say your ABC’s or count to 5 to enter kindergarten. That year in school is to teach kids social skills and how to listen and behave themselves. You don’t stay back in kindergarten because you cant spell CAT you stay back because you don’t know how to share or you hit other kids. and hey if you have watched this show you know how horribly these kids act, they cant share, they demand food and cant sit still at a table, they hit each other all the time and are uncontrollable brats because kate only disciplines them when is doing an interview or something, the rest of the time she lets them act like little animals. They were REJECTED from kindergarten because they don’t have these basic behavioral skills required by 5 years olds to be in a classroom. pretty sad.

    • Looks like you need to brush up on kindergarten curriculum. Children starting kindergarten need to know their abc’s and be able to identify and recite numbers 1-100. If they don’t they will be at a disadvantage. Yes, learning social skills plays a role, but academics is the highest priority.

      • they are expected to learn this stuff by the end of the year along with some reading and math skills, but it is not required for them to be accepted, not at public schools. Dont confuse Kindergarten with fisrt grade. It is all about social skills. if you are curious sight any example for a child repeating the grade. Its all behavioral. I would know, It’s my field. and these kids can count and know their ABC’s and have good vocabularies. their parents either held them out intentionaly for whatever reason or they dont have the social skills to enter yet.

      • That is absolutely not true. Pre-k is not required and your child does not need to have any skills to enter Kindergarten. Your child does, however, need these skills by the end of the year in order to advance a grade level. My child lives in ‘the north’. lol Do you even have children or have you been paying attention to your childs curriculum at all?

      • Never said pre-k was required.

I am a kindergarten teacher. If your child enters kindergarten with no academic skills you should not be a parent. You are not doing your job at home.

Kindergarten is vastly different than it was years ago. People are still holding on to the notion that K is just for play. It is not. So much more is expected of our children, even at the young age of 5 or 6.

I have seen so many people send their children to school without providing them with the basic building blocks they need to be successful in the classroom. It is sad for the children and the school community to see neglect.

    • Are you serious?
Being an Elementary Education major I’m going to go ahead and assume I know a lot more about current kindergarten curriculum than you do. Now that children are being taught to read small book, recognize and spell small words in kindergarten your child will be held back if they can’t spell CAT. And the children that come into school not even knowing their ABC’s are at a huge disadvantage to the rest of the class. Although they can catch up it can seriously effect their long term standing position in the class as well as their confidence. I don’t think in anyway they were rejected by the school, it’s an extremely good idea for children to attend Pre-K, in fact, the school system I’m observing at currently requires it.

  • I went to preschool, pre-k, and kindergarden. Though I still failed first grade from moving around so much. We moved in August, and didn’t settle down until March.

  • I’m not sure exactly when their birthdays are. but sometimes that makes a diff in whether you are 5 or 6 in starting kindergarten. and believe me the one year really doesn’t make a diff.

  • I had twins premie and they started K at 4 1/2. They are now sophomores in HS and never had to repeat a grade.

  • They were born in May so it isn’t the birthday cut off (three of my children miss it because of birthdays and will start at 6 instead of 5.)

And whomever thinks adjusted age ends at two is sorely mistaken. Adjusted age stops being relevant when developmental milestones stop being relevant. Those kids are far behind on EVERYTHING and who knows if its because of the camera or their parents or the fact they are simply behind. I mean they were potty trained at 3.5 years old (and the girls, if memory serves were a bit earlier.)

Having said all that, I have to agree that Kate probably kept them out for another year of filming. Mark my words, she’s going to “have” to homeschool them :-/

  • Thank goodness that they all got to wear non-matching clothes. Better to blend in…

But maybe I am wrong on this… but weren’t they attending some kind of schooling before this?

I saw one of their shows this summer where the (6)kids had their birthday party and got to invite one guest each from their classroom. Did anyone else see that? Cause one of the little girls had invited a little boy instead of a girl.

So they must have been attending some kind of pre-K… or Mommy’s day out program.

But I seriously doubt crazy Kate wants to home school. I bet she has been counting down the days till they went off to school. She has big plans to be a TV personality… and needs those kids out of her hair. hahaha!

  • Ordinarily if sextuplets were going to school, I would think that teachers would have a hard time telling them apart even though they arent identical they look very similar. but thanks to the show everyone knows who is who!

  • This “reality” show stopped being reality when the freebies and trips started. Most people save a lifetime to take their family on what the Gosselins get for free. TLC should finally pull the plug on this disaster and let the kids just be kids. They are in school now. Not much to film there. Let the little ones BE little ones. And let Jon and Kate get REAL jobs like the rest of us.

  • I agree with some that they were not unable to start regular K because of their being born premature. They have no social skills, which was just shown very glaringly on the ‘organization’ show. Two of the tup girls were very rude, selfish and mean to Kate’s ‘bestest’ friend’s son. They may share once in a blue moon with one of their siblings but they treat others like ‘outsiders not deserving of being shared with’ (something they would have learned from Kate’s treatment of ‘outsiders’. Their hitting was learned while they watched their favorites “mommy and daddy” shows with Kate hitting Jon on the leg, arm, body and slapping him in the face (all hard enough for the sound of it to be heard)
