She’s a hell of a lot better than most of the other “role models” that are out there for children now. I rather my daughters look up to Taylor and her originality than to jump on the drunk party girl band wagon.

Personally after watching Lohan & Spears loose their sh*t very pubically for the last few years. I prefer to see Taylor in all her goofy glory just being a nineteen year old. Not out wh*ring around LA desperate to be photographed.

I find her boring and annoying too. I don’t know understand the argument of “at least she’s not a drugged up mess.” I don’t like her because she’s trite and dull and I think her music sucks. I also think Britney and LL’s music sucks too. It’s all recording industry drivel. Yes she’s a good role model but it doesn’t make me like her, I’m an adult and don’t need one.

here’s the thing: she is nineteen, and she writes to and about and for other teenage girls. i am her age, and much of what she writes about really hits home. yes, it’s pop-country cute, but to be honest, when i’m in high school and all wrapped up in my high school world, i want to hear music sung by someone who seems to have at least a notion of what i’m doing and how i’m living at my age. so if you’re thirty, i do not expect you to love taylor swift. if you’re a boy, i do not expect you to like taylor swift. if you dislike country music, same story. she is what she is–a teenage girl. and she reaches her demographic, in my opinion. and i love her :).
I agree with you. I couldn’t have said it better myself. I am 17 and I totally relate to her. Also, I’m usually not really a fan of country, but I love Taylor’s music.

She’s adorable. Her songs are a little cheesy but poppy and catchy in a here today gone tomorrow sort of way. Nothing too serious. She is cute as a bug too. I suspect she will mature into a well respected country/crossover star. Lord knows we don’t need another Hohan, Spears or Xtina to muddy the pop waters.
I think her music is suspect, but she seems to have a lot of integrity. I totally respect her as a person, which is something I can say for very few celebrities. Well, as much as you can respect someone you don’t even know.
