Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Public Service Announcement

We all know by now that a certain “celebrity” (and I use the word here in absolutely the loosest sense possible) couple got married this weekend. The internet is littered with articles warning us that we should now live in fear of the day when they will combine the best aspects of their genetic material to produce vapid, attractive, little blonde music-murdering douche babies.

You’ve probably already read three or four articles about them, so in the interest of the public good, I’m staging an intervention. I’m here to remind you that it’s hockey playoff season. You’d do well by yourself to avoid reading any more articles about that unholy union and watch hockey instead. Or even basketball, if that’s your thing.

For my part, I promise that (for today at least) this page shall not pollute the internet with one more article about their tying the knot. I do what I can.

  • Maybe I should feel blessed that I have absolutely no idea who you’re talking about.

NBA play offs are far more exciting than anything to me right now.
In fact, Celtics have their next game in an hour or so! Woop!

    • I cannot believe the Celtics lost. Why???

Oh, and I also have no idea what you are talking about.

  • SP and HM should have just left their life’s baggage down in Mexico and allowed us all the ability to live free of involvement with anything related to them!

  • SP and HM should have just left their life’s baggage down in Mexico and allowed us all the ability to live free of involvement with anything related to them! Maybe the Swine Flu pandemic started 5 months ago???? Hmmmm.

    P.S. Go Lakers!

  • Just for fun any of you with twitter should follow HM. It’s like watching a car crash in really slow motion. Every tweet is “i love jesus” “i’m recording an album yay” “god bless today” it’s terrible but I can’t seem to pull myself away…

    • I’m wondering that too. See I come to Evil Beet for my gossip so I don’t understand how they expect me to know without telling me.

  • Thank you! I could care less about them.

Go B’s! We already swept the Habs now we get to sit back and watch the fun unfold. Hopefully the Sox can sweep the Yanks tonight and the Celts can go up 3-1 on the Bulls. It’s a good time to be a Boston sports nut :)

  • I love you more for being a Southern American woman who cares that it is hockey playoff season than for saving us from whatever couple just got hitched. (I am proud to say that even the initials don’t jog any sense of recognition).

  • I’m a Senators fan so thanks for sweeping the Habs. A few people in the office have finally shut up.

  • By not saying it, you’re just giving Perez Hilton more hits. But to anyone reading the comments to find out who she is talking about, I am gonna spoil it, it’s Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag.

    • The funny thing is, most Americans don’t know them either. Nor do we know why the F*@# anyone cares about them. It’s odd.

    • Go Sharks indeed! Hockey playoffs are one of the most exciting things ever. I like basketball and everything but the first couple rounds are fairly predicatable overall. The top seeds usually come out ahead until the end. A Lakers/Cavs has been predicted a jillion times and will likely be right. Hockey, on the other hand, is anyone’s guess. As a die hard Sharks fan, I hope this series goes the “predicatable” route and they advance to the finals. No choking this year, please. Honestly, even if you’re not into hockey, just watch a couple playoff games. You might change your mind.

  • “they will combine the best aspects of their genetic material to produce vapid, attractive, little blonde music-murdering douche babies”

Stuff like this makes me almost want to take HM/SP off my banned-topic list. ALMOST.

  • So glad some of you are excited about hockey! I posted the Bruins commercial because I thought it was really funny, but actually, I’m a Preds fan. Since we didn’t make the playoffs this year (for the first time in 5 seasons thank-you-very-much) I’m enjoying watching some really exciting playoff hockey without the excruciating anxiety of a personal emotional investment.

Right now, I’m pulling for the Caps– not because of any personal Ovechkin obsession, but because I laid a bet on them MONTHS ago in Vegas when the odds were something like 13 to 1.

    • The Sharks are sad the Preds missed the playoffs this year too. They love knocking them out in the first round. Much better matchup for them than the Ducks. Sharks in 7!
