R.I.P. Andy Hallett

This is horrible news!

Andy Hallett, the hottie who played demon Lorne on fan-favorite series Angel, has died of heart failure at the age of 33.

E! Online eports that the actor passed away at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on Sunday night with his father Dave at his side.

He had struggled with heart failure for several years and been hospitalized several times before this incident.

What an awful and terrifying struggle. It reminds me to count my blessings and keep things in perspective. You will be greatly missed, Andy.

  • Unbelieveably sad! He was hands down the coolest guy on Angel.

Before I got into the series I thought he was ridiculous with his demon face but he was a seriously talented guy and this is tragic.

  • Yeah, this is really sad news. I’ve always been big on Buffy and not so much on Angel, but Lorne’s humor and personality really was the best thing about that show. This is really sad news.

  • This is so upsetting…

The rampant Joss fan in me is crying buckets of tears right now. He MADE that show so much of what it was, and what I still carry in my heart.

I love hearing him sing. :)

  • This is so sad. He was talented and young. Lorne was the best thing in Angel by far. I did not know he had hearth problems. As Beet said, puts things in prespective. RIP.

  • NO!! I used to wish they would spin Lorne off of Angel and create his own show, it always seemed like his life was more interesting, or, at least, a lot less corny. Angel never lived up to Buffy, but the character of Lorne made it much more watchable. RIP.

  • Our deepest condolences to the family, friends and fans left behind by Mr. Hallett.. We have lost another asset in Hollywood.. We sincerely pray that he may rest in peace.. You will always remain in our hearts and memories..

  • I was just watching the epi of “Angel” this morning which was about going back to Lorne’s world when I read about this online. Such a talent, even under the green make-up and horns.

  • so sad…and only 33! i heart buffy and angel, was a big fan of both and loved this guy.

  • Andy’s final scene in Angel with Christian Kane was probably one of the best scenes of the entire series…it was fabulous acting…

  • Oh, my God. That’s really upsetting. I was never a huge Whedon fan, but I really liked Andy Hallett on the show and I’d hunker down and watch if he were on. Sad.

  • NOT CREVLORNESWATH! Or whatever his full name was.

That’s really depressing. I loved him.

  • Andy Hallett was a fantastic singer and actor, and i was stunned and shocked by the news of his passing.
I send my love to all his family and friends and am with them in this time of sorrow, and like the Angel episode from season one “I will remember you”, Always.

  • This is very sad news, what a talented guy — and, Anonymous, people can have congestive heart failure for years before a fatal event.

  • This just breaks my heart. I loved Andy’s performance as Lorne. Like his character, he seemed to be a gentle person. I offer my condolences to his family and friends. May you rest in peace, friend.

  • OH MY GOD !!! I could not belive it when i heard andy had died. He definitly brought something special to angel in every episode he was in.
It is sad to know that i will never hear his AMAZING voice again.

    Youll be missed Andy

  • Reading all the comments just then i have more to say. On the angel special features everyone says Andy is really kind and gentle and i can see the public thought so too.
