Mad Men’s Fate is Finally Determined

After months of uncertainty, it has been confirmed that AMC’s Mad Men has at least another two years of life.  Negotiations have been long, tense and public between the show’s creator and executive producer Matthew Weiner and Lionsgate TV.  Thankfully, they worked it out.

Is this show any good?  I kind of want to get involved in watching it but I’m not sure if it’s worth the effort.

  • It is a fabulous show. I originally thought I would hate it but I bought season 1 on DVD and it fuckin rocks! I love it. What made it better was season one on dvd was shaped like a lighter but I don’t think they sell that case anymore. Regardles you should totally get it Beet.

  • this is a surprisingly addictive show! i watched a mini marathon on AMC and when it was over it left me wanting for more! :(

  • Mad Men has highly engaging plotlines and characters, the acting is top notch, ‘Don Draper’ is scary-gorgeous, and on top of all that you get the stunningly well done period sets and costumes. It’s so worth it.

  • Such the good show. watch it!!! Season 2 was kind of…. different from season 1, so i hope things are back to full speed for the next 2 seasons!

  • both seasons were amazing! the characters are so complicated, like real people, and the acting is wonderfully subtle. plus the entire set is eye candy every episode. i started watching during the second season, but i would recommend starting from the beginning :)

  • Really awesome and seemingly authentic in terms of the era. I have to admit, I am now a complete nut for those vintage dresses…I bought some on ebay and never wear ’em. Just type in “vintage chiffon dress” and you’ll find some. GORGEOUS.

Oh yeah. The show is good, too. God, I’m lame.

  • OMG! It’s so so so so so so good. I had no interest in it when it first came out but then I heard it won so many awards I decided to check it out “On Demand”. I got completely hooked. It’s so utterly hip. And Don Draper can sit on my face any time he wants.

  • Really quality television. Interesting, complext characters and plot lines. It’s so odd & authentic & funny to see the poltically incorrect behavior running rampant. from the smoking & drinking in the office, to the blantant sexism….it’s all so real and well done

  • So good & addictive. I can’t stop watching and I’m afraid that if I don’t stop I’m going to finish season 2 and be left with no more.

  • I have heard nothing but awesome things from anyone who has ever watched this show. I decided to purchase season one and get on the bandwagon, but for some reason, both HMV and Future Shop are both sold out up here in Vancouver, Canada. When I phoned them to ask about it, they say only a few copies are being ordered in. Meanwhile the shelves in these stores are stocked up with hundreds of copies of comparable hit TV series like Lost, Grey’s, 30 Rock, Nip/Tuck, you name it. I’m thinking Mad Men would be an even bigger hit if people could find the first season on DVD up here. What’s up with that?

    • google ~ Project Free TV ~ You can watch pretty much every tv show Network, HBO, Showtime…you name it. Plus, all movies too. Some of it’ pretty bad quality, but if you’re desperate its an option

  • Seriously the best show on television. The characters, the costumes the absurdness of the 60’s. You have to watch season one and two before you attempt to watch season three. Really great T.V.
    I hope you love it.

  • Mad men.. I so so recommend.
Drinking, Smoking and Sexual Harassment @ the office!?
Sounds like my kind of office
    …. kidding …

  • I loved the show, but I had to stop watching during the first season when I quit smoking. It was just too hard to stay quit with all the sexy awesome smoking on the show, sigh.

  • Amazing Amazing! I’m relived that it’s back. It’s the only good new show to come to Television in YEARS in my humble opinion.
