Congratulations to Whitney, the first “full-figured” winner of ANTM.
Um, I haven’t really been following this season, but this girl is a plus-sized model like Lindsay Lohan’s the president of Alcoholics Anonymous: not at all. This girl isn’t big; she has a normal, healthy, attractive body. It’s ridiculous to consider her fat in any way.
She so needed to win! I screamed. I love her.
Uh … the runner-up .. how do I say this delicately? … FUCKING FUNGUS FUGLY!!
Did anyone notice how thoroughly disgusted the judges looked?
They obviously hated giving the “Fat girl” the title. Assholes.
Ugh, I hate Whitney. Hate her attitude, hate her runway walk, hate her in commercials. Awful winner.
I watched ANTM from the beginning and I have to say that Whitney was my favorite. I was THRILLED to see she winned. You should’ve watched it Beet! It would’ve gave you something else to write about. 14 girls in a house together and they’re all trying to win the title of “who’s prettiest” (basically!). Fun stuff!
Whitney is a fabulous winner!! She doesn’t have attitude, she has confidence and she should! Gorgeous girl. Step up from bitchy Saleisha last season *barfs*.
For a model she is fat. Look at the chubby arms.
For a human being she looks great. Two different things though.
I’m not surprised that she won even though she was full figured, I’m surprised she won with that terrible under bite.
i think she is thicky thick in general. not a bad thing. but lets not say she is thin sized.
and in my opinion they gave it to her. she isnt as “model” pretty as the the other final 2. but she did have more personality.
The show is actually rigged. Tyra just decided to push a plus sized model through to win the competition. It was evident that Anya had much better Covergirl pictures, but they only decided to choose a mediocre one as her “best” shot. From all of Anya’s past shots and just from watching her pictures being taken, it was evident that Anya would have had a much better shot. They purposely picked bad pictures of both Anya and Fatima (both with their eyes “happening” to look upward). There is a very low probability that Anya didn’t even have a picture where she connected at eye level. It was just an excuse to get Whitney some recognition. Then for the runway, Anya was forced into skinny little dresses, which would limit her movement on the runway, (similar to Chantal in Cycle 9) and thus would have a weaker runway. Another factor was the photo portfolio comparisons at the end of the episode, which Tyra conveniently chose Whitney’s stronger shots. Whitney had several bad shots throughout the competition, but these were not discussed at the final judging. She was in the bottom two, 4 times, while Anya had never appeared in the final two. It was so obvious that they chose Whitney’s good pictures.
Don’t get me wrong, I think Whitney is very pretty and actually wanted her to win in the beginning, but Anya is much more deserving of the title. Anya too has her flaws, but she would make a much stronger high fashion model than Whitney. Though Whitney’s runway was stronger than Anya’s (given the unfair dress accommodations) she still didn’t fit in with the other models in the show. She was doubtless to say stunning, but she completely clashed with the high fashion image of the show and ultimately of the title of America’s Next Top Model.

I think it’s great that Whitney won! I really was afraid that Anya would win, because she did seem stronger in the pictures. But as the judges said at the end, Anya was more high fashion and Whitney was more of a girl that men would lust after. So they made a choice which I knew was a hard one. Also, Anya’s runway walk wasn’t that strong. And if she was really good, she would have made that skinny dress work for her instead of falling apart slightly. She was falling apart altogether near the end of the competition. It was evident. So I think Whitney deserved it.
Also, Tyra’s the executive producer, of course she makes all the big desicions!

While Whitney was great (and yes beautiful) she was TOTALLY handed the title just because she is “full figured” and they have never had a girl like that win before. While I wish there wasn’t even that standard in the fashion industry it does exist and Anya totally should have won. She was humble, a shoe in for the covergirl spot, and had never been in the bottom two, or had a horrible picture. As for Whitney, again I liked her but she wasn’t what the judges always say they are looking for…HIGH FASHION and versatile. They always called Whitney fake, and Ms. America pagent-like. Seriously? Who the hell do they think they are kidding? I hate that show now….psh!

If this chick thinks that she is going to have any type of career (not like any of the winners do) in high fashion, or anything other then Lane Bryant or a JC Pennys catalog, then she is just stupid…
Whitney is a nasty disrespectful person and is a trashy Anna Nicole look-a-like. Anya is sweet and poses model-esque atypical beauty. Whitney is a step above Saleisha, but just barely.

Stop it haters! They were all mediocre at best. Fatima was too insecure and thought she was too fiierce during photo sessions. Anya had no runway presence at all and either looked good or very booted in pictures (besides not being able to speak ENGLISH on AMERICAS top model). Yes it was time for a plus size girl, but … She won because she took great photos for the Cover girl shoot and owned the Versace dress on the runway during the what?? Yes the competition…U CAN STOP HATIN NOW…. Jealousy is a bitch, huh loosers?
Having had my fair share of young clients with eating disorders and distorted body image, I think it is great that viewers saw a “full figured” girl win – fixed or not. It is sad that we live in a culture that celebrates the 00 size as the “ideal” and that we feel pressure to starve and abuse ourselves to fit that mold. She may not have been the best(sorry, I didn’t watch the show) but if she prevents one young girl from sticking her finger down her throat, I’m all for it.

When I saw the show I just started to imagine how KATARZYNA would make it, for the CoverGirl commercial and of course the walk, I’m so disapointed about ANTM. must be call American Next Top Stupid Personality
I have two questions.
The first is a 2 parter. How could Whitney win? When does she become good? Because from what I’ve seen up to the final episode she is shit!
The second. How come this season was spoiled everywhere? everyone knew what was going on by the final 5. That sucks, and hasn’t happened for me in a previous Cycle.

Tyra always screws up the girls with her so-called make overs. They usually look worse, instead of better. Dominique, the tranny that she was, looked a hell of a lot better before Tyra got a hold of her. Whitney did look better as a brunette.

I was left feeling like the producers wanted a “Plus Size Winner†from day one of casting the show. It just felt like Whitney was “set up†to win. Never before would the judges have tolerated someone who continually made such heinous faces in photos, or was SO FAKE every time they opened their mouth. Look at the runway show alone. Anya was given clothes with huge, long trails and material so tight she could barely move. I could almost see the producers back stage, poking needles into an Anya voodoo doll in hopes she’d fall and thus offer “justification†for giving the title to Whitney. But I’m not buying it. It felt rigged, it felt fake, and Whitney – though she did look decent in a FEW shots during the show, should not have won this competition. What a pathetic representation of America’s Next Top Model and what a gross, pandering insult to “plus size†women on the producer’s part… thinking heavier American women will be able to relate to her, just because she has a few extra pounds on her. SHE’S OBNOXIOUS, she’s not a good model, and I’ve seen more genuineness in the jewelry display case at my local pawn shop. Ah, I feel much better now.

i am so pissed at this season. funky fresh and ex-ANTM fan, I agree with you both. I must say that Whitney was chosen because it was a publicity stunt for some probably self riteous crap tyra tryna pull off. She was in no way the top model out of the crowd of girls. I didn’t believe she made it to the top 2 let alone the top 3. i kno big girls want attn too but that title belongs to Anya! I don’t care what anyone says! They jus didnt pic Anya (the best choice) because theyd lose alot of big girl fans. Plus Anya has a better chance in the industry and probably already got hired by somebody with a much better gig. Im not hatn on her cuz shes a big girl. Im jus mad because she didnt deserve the title and she cant be a role model in my eyes. Her attitude was too stank on this season.

I think it’s hilarious that people actually get worked up about the fact that the most “high fashion” girls get the boot on this show. I mean, it’s a COVERGIRL conrtact and a shoot with SEVENTEEN-MFING-MAGAZINE! It’s not french Vouge for christ’s sake. of course they are going to push the most comercial girl through. could you really see Lauren or Claire on the cover of Seventeen mag hamming it up? yeah, not so much.
Yeah, I do believe that in some ways Whitney was given the title. Although I also liked her and wanted her to win. The show is all about getting the “Fresh” face. A winner who is different from the former winners. Whitney is very different. It is the same reason that Jaslene won two years ago. They had never had an ethnic winner. I personally HATE Jaslene and wanted her to fall in a hole, but she was thier fresh face. I’m just glad that someone is trying to get a hold on the unhealthy fashion industry, even if it means pushing a “plus-size” model to the forefront.
She is a size eight, people. *sheesh* This ANTM was the worst of all cycles. I’m glad a “larger” girl won, but they have to do better next cycle.

While I agree with the c mments about Whitney being chosen because she is a full fugured model, I do wonder if some of youf have lives outside of the show. The emotion involved in some of these replies is kinda crazy. It is TV.
Meanwhile, I don’t think Tyra has the autonomy to choose who she wants. Especially with Cover Girl, Elite model mamagement and 17 magazine all with so much at stake. I work for a cash cow business and believe me it is all about the bottom line. Who can get us the most for our investment.
Everyone acts as if theis is the first time the winner was picked pre finale. I can name at least 4 cyles where the person that won should not have won. I watch for the drama. <ost times after about 2-3 shows you know who the 3-4 favorites are. This cycle was no different. Look at american Idol. Especially look at Dancing with the Stars this season.
I didn’t watch this show, but I wear 6’s and 8’s and am 5″6 1/2 and I am not considered plus size. Since when did this happen? Our society is totally screwed up. If a person is naturally tiny, that is one thing. But to see a person starve themselves to be size 2’s or zeroes is disgusting. That skinny no curvy body just isn’t appealing. This world is sick.

Ok so I totally thought Anya was going to win. She fits the stereotype of an American model. She’s beautiful and has a model body. Her poses in pictures were the best. I was so shocked when I found out Whitney won. My reaction was…”What the fuck?!” Anya was my favorite. Even if she didn’t win, I bet agencies are calling her to do runway shows and modeling. Whitney is OK although I don’t consider her to be “plus sized.” Some of her pictures were OK. I didn’t think she stood out as much as Anya. Anya should have won!
Once again, Tyra’s show seems fixed. Not because I liked Whitney more or less than anyone else. She was constantly criticized by the judges and didn’t take very good pictures. Anya was all around a better model. This show has become laughable.

Whitney’s covergirl print-ad was beautiful I thought – not just compared with Fatima and Anya’s but with past winner’s shots too. I do find it shocking however that they ignored the fact that her final runway was pretty horrifying. Arms all over the place and NO POSE??????
Even if she was not the best model this season she is still a better winner than Saleisha, Naima or the (unbelievable choice) Caridee…
Dominique should have won! This competition is rigged and there’s a conspiracy to keep Dominique from winning. They never have tranny as the winner and I think this is a bad image for America the land of non equality. I also believe that RuPaul had a hand in this.

My first advice to you is to learn how to spell. It is difficult to take you seriously in your “professional opinion” of this cycle of ANTM when you cannot even deliver a grammatically correct insult (Its “disgrace” not DESCRACE). Secondly, how dare you refer to any woman (she’s a size 10 by the way) as fat, NASTEY…its nasty…by the way, and grotesque. I’m all for women who encourage the American society to live a healthier lifestyle but it is important to recognize other body types as well.
Just so you don’t think I’m attacking you because Whitney was my choice for a top model, I believe Anya deserved to win. Her body of work was much stronger and she was much more marketable than Whitney will ever be. That being said she isn’t the brightest bulb in the box…which could hurt her later in her career.

I gotta say, I’m HIGHLY disappointed with the last two seasons of ANTM. Saleisha was a ‘eh’ winner to be honest. I admired her drive, admired the way she had so much faith in herself, but there were girls that were MUCH better than her. Yet she won..fine I let that go, seeing as her final competition, Chantal, was NOT that much better. Whitney is a beautiful girl…hands down. HOWEVER, she was not the best model. I personally was rooting for Fatima but I think she was too sometime-ish in her photo shoots. Generally she took great shots but there were some rough patches she needed to work on. Anya…poor girl, fell apart on the runaway but took pictures which left Whitney’s pictures in the dust. The girl was hot..funny accent or not she was very sweet and very likeable. I really think since ‘full-figured models’ are such a hot button nowadays and Tyra just decided to do her part and HAND Whitney the title. *ahem* example Cycle 5: Nicole. Where is she today? *ahem* All I gotta say is……NEXT CYCLE.
