Catherine Zeta-Jones sought treatment again last month for her bipolar disorder, entering an unknown rehab facility in an effort to get it under control again. Luckily, she seems to be doing a lot better now and left rehab yesterday, according to her husband, Michael Douglas.
“She comes home tomorrow,” he told PEOPLE on Monday. “She’s doing a really good job of getting balanced. I’m proud of her.”
That sounds a little condescending, but I’m sure he didn’t mean it that way. As a couple, CZJ and Michael have been through quite a bit, what with his cancer and her mental health struggles. They seem to have a pretty solid relationship, which is always nice to see, especially in Hollywood.
Here’s hoping Catherine is back on her feet and feeling better. Bipolar II is no joke and can really knock you for a loop (yes, shout out to Demi Lovato on this one), so here’s to health for everyone.

Being a human being is an awesome thing – our bodies autonomously work for nearly a hundred years (if we’re lucky) without being hooked up to any power source or anything. We can walk and talk and have sex and run experiments and write books and all these wonderful things. Humanity is grand! Of course, anything so amazing has its downfall, and that comes in the form of illness of any kind, physical or mental. bipolar II disorder is one of them and it’s a damn shame that Catherine Zeta-Jones is struggling with hers once again.
Catherine entered a treatment facility again yesterday to get things under control. TMZ has the full report:
We’ve learned … the 43-year-old Academy Award winner checked in to the treatment center Monday … and is expected to complete a 30-day program.
Sources connected to the actress tell us … Jones’ stint in the treatment center is a proactive measure. As one source puts it, “It’s maintenance.”
FYI — Jones completed a stint at a treatment center in 2011 — at the time, her rep said Catherine had “made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II disorder.”
I can’t even say anything snarky to this story – mental illness is a lifelong struggle and one that I hope she finds some more peace with during this round of treatment. And at least she’s got a good partner there to support her (I would hope) in Michael Douglas!

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have been married for 12 years, but there may well be trouble in paradise according to The National Enquirer, who claims they’ve been having a “hush hush trial separation”.
The Daily Mail has the rundown:
The Enquirer alleges that the marriage ‘buckled under the pressure of dealing with Michael’s cancer battle, his son Cameron’s incarceration on drugs charges and Catherine’s struggle with bipolar II disorder.’
The publication even claims that 68-year-old Michael ‘moved out’ of the home he shared with the 43-year-old actress and children Dylan, 12, and nine-year-old Carys, moving into a nearby rental property.
‘Michael said something to the effect that he and Catherine were taking a “time out”, and he was looking forward to having an entire house as his personal man cave,’ a source said.
According to the Enquirer, cracks began to publicly appear when Catherine was a ‘no show’ at a special screening of her father-in-law Kirk Douglas’s film Spartacus last year.
‘Michael made some lame excuse, but when she skipped the family dinner, it was obvious that something was not right,’ a source said. ‘I think he felt completely betrayed that Catherine didn’t show up.
Don’t you love when “a source” offers up so much valuable information for us all to see? How sweet of them. Of course, reps for CZJ and Michael Douglas have completed debunked this story and insisted that it’s not true, which it probably isn’t. The pair have been through a hell of a lot together between Michael’s cancer battle, CZJ’s struggle with depression and God knows what else. I think they’ll be just fine.

She looks even better than the last time we said that Catherine Zeta-Jones was looking good, because the last time we said Catherine Zeta-Jones was looking good, she was looking like this:
And even before that, she wasn’t looking all that good (sorry, but the truth hurts sometimes), and she was looking like this:
But anyway, hey. Catherine Zeta-Jones is looking better than ever (literally), and I’m going to credit it all to a little weight gain, some happiness, and a dash of self-confidence that she’s doing so many movies lately. CZJ is probably one of my favorite Hollywood ladies, and even though she’s not doing awesome movies like ‘The Haunted’ anymore, doesn’t make her any less important and lovely in my book.
Get it, girl!

So we’ve been “hard” on Catherine Zeta-Jones lately, speculating on whether or not she’s feeling physically ill, because let’s be honest—girlfriend, to date, has not been looking all that healthy. Yeah, she’s admitted in the past to suffering from bipolar disorder, and while she claims it’s under control and medicated, she’s just not looking all that happy.
These pictures, however? On the set of one of her new films, ‘Red 2‘? She looks pretty great. The bangs work on her in a way that they could never work on Jessica Biel (oh, my bad), her smile looks genuine, and you can tell that she really enjoys her work—as she should, because she really is quite an actress. It’s good to see girlfriend in her element.
The only other thing I have to say, really, is that she looks really, really great for her fifty-three years. And yeah, I know—she claims she’s forty-three. But you and I know better, now, don’t we?

Because she’s not looking all that good, guys. Last I checked, it was her husband who had a debilitating illness that tore through and ravaged his body, and not her. She looks sick. She’s looking like hell. It’s looking like the years of dealing with her husband’s illness, coupled with her own mental illness, has really, really taken its toll on her. Granted, she’s still a beautiful woman, but guys … she’s only just forty-three years old (forty-three years old as of just yesterday, so happy birthday, girl). And she looks at least ten years older than that, if not maybe even a little bit more.
Dunno, guys. I’m seriously saying this with love—I’m concerned about Catherine, here, because she’s just not looking well. I think maybe girlfriend needs a long, relaxing vacation, guys. Real bad. And fast.
