Katy Perry‘s new album, Prism, may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but it’s sure as shit mine and I love it (and her), so I’m really pleased that it’s debuted in the top spot on the Billboard Top 200 album charts! Prism sold 286,000 copies in its first week, which is the best debut by a female artist in 2013 – even better than Miley‘s 270,000! Get it, girl!
Prism is doing even better than Teenage Dream did back in 2010 – that one only sold 192,000 its first week. Oh, snap – moving on up! The sales apparently were higher than the album in second and ninth places combined. Love it.
Have you listened to Prism yet? Will you? Also, for those who have, can we all agree ‘Birthday’ is a criminally underrated song? Not lyrically, but the melody is SO GOOD.
