Sister Sister’s Tamera Mowry Was a 29 Year-Old Virgin

Tamera Mowry from sister sister with son

Sister, Sister, the 1990’s TV sitcom about reunited twin sisters, was one of those shows you loved as a kid and didn’t realize was kinda stupid until later in life. And then you realized that the sisters grew up, and lived their own lives. And now, we get to hear all about one of the sister’s (not this one) sex lives. So, uh, yay for growing up?

Tamera Mowry (now Tamera Mowry-Housley) revealed that she didn’t have sex until she was 29 and that she’s only had sex with one person ever — her current husband. From an interview on HOT97NY via Daily Mail:

I don’t know how to explain this. I’m religious, so I waited until I was 29 to lose my virginity.

No, it sounds like you explained it pretty well. Go on.

You may not understand this [but] I did it [had sex], then I felt guilty, then I became celibate until I got married.

I think that’s a thing a lot of people can understand. I wish she didn’t feel the need to defend herself so much. It’s okay!!!

And here’s another fun fact: she used to date Seth McFarlane! And I am guessing for not very long.

  • No jugement here — I handed in my v-card at 26 just so I could be rid of it, finally. The verdict: not so great. If she’s happy with what she has then good for her!

    • Yea, having sex and then becomig celibate doesn’t exactly make you a virgin again. Wtf. How is this even a headline and why didn’t anyone tell her that she was not a virgin if she had sex before she married. That doesn’t count, you can’t take it back just bc you become celibate.

      • I reread that and I think she meant that she had sex for the first time at the age of 29 and then waited to do it again when she got married. But she made it sound like she lost her virginity AFTER marrying, like she waited until marraige to lose it because she’s religious.

  • Maybe she became one of those “born again virgins.” That is the only way this makes any sense.
