I promised myself I would stop, I really did. I promised myself that I would cut back on my cattiness towards Taylor Swift, especially for her horrendous covers. I said “Emily, what are you doing? What good does it do to go on about your resentment of a popular yet only marginally talented country singer?” And I stopped.

Well, for like a month. Then I saw this video of Taylor performing with my beloved Goo Goo Dolls, and I’m sorry, but all bets are off. Because much like the cast of Glee covering a Bowie song, it just got a little too personal.

How are you guys feeling about this here video? Either I’m a jealous bitch or Taylor is too ridiculous, am I right?

i’m gonna go ahead and lay my theory out that they both did a bunch of coke before this. because everytime i see that guy he looks like he’s on something. and i want to believe that blind item about taytay

  2. Shy says:

Well, it’s not like she did it without permission or just simply covered it on her own…I mean, she sang it WITH the freaking Goo Goo Dolls.

I didn’t watch the video because I agree: she’s marginally talented, at best. I don’t think you should stop being catty about Taylor though. No, no, no—don’t stop!

    i’m impressed, she’s actually singing O.K. here.

    this is blasphemy

Good god, this girl cannot sing.

Never stop being catty about her, because she is a knob. Go Emily, go!

Unless her ass is playing a single chord she wasn’t playing that guitar.

Her singing was fine for an average teen-age girl in her bedroom.

But she did annoy the crap out of me with her faux-rocker bit. She.wasn’t.playing.that.guitar.

See, they aren’t magical objects. I thought it might’ve been that she was strumming a single chord (that had her hand wrapped wholly around the guitar top…) and there was a delay. But the guy’s hand matched his playing, so…

She sucks. But I wasn’t impressed before; it wasn’t a big leap.

Are you kidding? That was not so bad for trying to sing a googoo dolls unique style of song. It was about having a guest in her concert and being able to sing with him, in fact, its nice she wasn’t trying to upstage him. Although I love googoo dolls too. You are not alone by being “a jealous bitch”. I mean I get it. Taylor is young, so beautiful, such a good writer and a talented singer, so successful and sometimes she seems like she knows it but pretends to be surprised when she wins all those awards. She has it all. I love Taylor because she never ceases to inspire and connect with me. She writes lyrics that all of us as women/girls feel and think and she has a sweet voice and the music is upbeat. Quit feeling inadequate and insecure and enjoy the music, she is fun and is one of the FEW artists that actually can write lyrics together and make it a hit.

How are you inspired by someone who bitches and moans about wanting some guy to be in love with her? All her songs sound like a sad junior high girl pining for a guy in her class.

    jealous bitch

Who over 15 could possibly be jealous of Taylor Swift? I think it’s great that 15 year old chicks have a non-slutty singer to idolize, but that doesn’t mean she’s talented. Five years from now she will be on VH1s “Where are they now?” (Is that on VH1???)
