Ke$ha’s Old Management Wants Their $14M Before She’s Broke Again (And They Think That Could Be Very Soon)

Ke$ha‘s former managers threw down a lawsuit in May of 2010, saying that the pop star owed them $14 million in past due royalties. Now they’re asking that the case gets pushed forward because they’re pretty sure that by the time the judge gets to them, Ke$ha wont have money to give them either way.

From the NY Post:

In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, DAS Communications characterizes the tousle-haired singer as a one-hit wonder who owes them millions — hence they’re worried they’ll wind up with nothing if a judge doesn’t stop her delaying tactics.

Ke$ha “is a very young and inexperienced artist whose ‘star’ may not continue to rise,” DAS Communications contends in court papers that imply the clock already may be “Tik Tok”-ing down on her career.

“Although she has made an incredible amount of money in a very short period of time, in large part due to DAS’ efforts on her behalf, she could just as easily lose money if not properly guided.”

Talk about adding insult to injury. “Not only do you owe us a shitload of money, but you better pay up fast because God knows you’re going to fall off the face of the planet before you can earn any more.” Ouch.

I hope this works out well for Ke$ha, to be honest. From what she’s said, she really struggled on her way to making it and she probably has a couple of these “former manager” types lying around. I picture the people suing her to be sleezey bros with comb-overs and cheap houndstooth suits with offices based in a strip mall owned by the head manager’s aunt.

Good luck, girl.
