First, the expected. I always new that Blair Witch would rear its head again. The movie, titled ‘The Blair Witch Project’, was made on a shoe string budget of $60,000! You read that right. And it made $240m. So yea, they’ll try that again.
But for those who remember the 1999 classic might recall the terrible sequels that followed. But Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson referred to the film a “new vision for Blair Witch that will reintroduce this horror classic for a new generation.”
The team behind the new film made Paranormal Activity and The Purge, so hopefully they’ll do right by it. No details on plot were given.
Now to the absurd. Thanks to the success of the Barbie movie, Lionsgate and Hasbro have entered a deal to make Monopoly into a movie. Monopoly.
There were no details of what such a thing will look like and I’m not all that certain they even have an idea. But expect a dog, a shoe and a hat to go on an adventure in Atlantic City. That’s my guess.
