Famed director Jason Reitman is taking on one of the most famous and storied behind the scenes drama ever to come out of comedy. The first season of Saturday Night Live.
Reitman has done extensive interviews with the cast and is creating and directing a series based on the stories of behind the curtain drama surrounding the debut season of the legendary show.
Lamorne Morris, Dylan O’Brien, Cory Michael Smith and Matt Wood have all been cast to play Garrett Morris, Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, and John Belushi, respectively.
The current release on the show states; On October 11th, 1975, a ferocious troupe of young comedians and writers changed television forever. This is the true story of what happened that night behind the scenes in the moments leading up to the first broadcast of SNL. No word on a release, but given casting is still in the mix, we’ll guess early 2025.
