Only a couple of years ago, Renee Zellweger looked like a completely different person. In fact, she looked like a person who had been untouched by plastic surgery of any kind. Cut to October 2014, when she hit up Elle’s Women In Fashion Awards ceremony with a brand new face… and people really, really don’t know what to do with themselves about it.
Renee is 44 now, and getting older in Hollywood is hard. She’s certainly not the first person to go under the knife in an effort to preserve her youth (and therefore her ability to book jobs) in the industry. However, I think the reaction here has more to do with just how extreme this is. I honestly would not recognize her if I wasn’t told who she was. She has literally got a brand new face.

As for Renee, she says she hasn’t had any surgery at all, and that she’s just living a healthier, happier lifestyle (via People):
“I’m glad folks think I look different! I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows,” Zellweger, 45, says of the attention she received after an appearance at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards in Beverly Hills on Monday.
Calling the conversation about her appearance “silly,” she says she is choosing to address it because “it seems the folks who come digging around for some nefarious truth which doesn’t exist won’t get off my porch until I answer the door.”
LOL, okay, girl. I have no issue with plastic surgery whatsoever. It’s not my thing, but if it’s yours, do you. But at least don’t lie about it.
It looks like she’s had maybe an eyebrow lift and some botox, but who gives a shit? I think the biggest thing is that those small changes seem to have radically altered her appearance and therefore she’s not as recognizable, which may hurt her when it comes to getting roles, but if she’s happy, then good for her. It’s not like plastic surgery is a big deal or a taboo thing in Hollywood.

Why not lie about it? What puts celebrities under the obligation to tell the truth about everything?
I have one eyelid that droops because of an accident I had as a child. I always think about getting it fixed, then I saw Renee’s new face and now I never want to get plastic surgery on my eyes. She looks awful. She was beautiful and had a unique look about her before and now she just looks pulled tight like all the rest of the men and women in Hollywood who refuse to age gracefully.
I’ve seen a couple other pictures of her from the same event and she looks good. It’s been 5 years since her last movie and she is about 11 years older than in the “before” pictures everyone loves to compare her to.
I don’t know what it is about that lip colour or the way she’s pursing her lips but they look sooo chapped and dead. I’m bummed out for her, she could take a page out of kathy bates’ look. The eyelids define her!

There is no way that she suddenly developed eyelids. You tend to lose them as you get older and she didn’t have any visible eyelids before. She has had an eye lift and some tweaking. I think she’s had some Botox in her forehead, judging by her eyebrow angle and maybe a little work on the bridge of her nose. That bump is gone.
