Emma Stone is absolutely gorgeous and after I saw Easy A, I was going around telling everyone that she was definitely the next Lindsay Lohan. A young, pretty redhead who can act pretty well and deliver laughs, right?
Then I caught Emma’s episode of SNL this weekend and eh, I dunno. Lohan kind of killed SNL her first time hosting and Emma’s whole episode was brought down by this one rude-ass impression she did of Lindsay. It could have been harsher, sure, but it was so unnecessary and the jokes were nothing new. In fact, they felt old. As if they were picked out of the carpet on the floor of the writer’s room.
I’m a gossip blogger. It’s kind of my job here to report all the details on people like Lindsay, but that’s Emma’s peer. A fellow young actress and one that was, at one time, hugely successful. The two look alike and so it’s natural that Emma would attempt an impression of her during the show, but the angle they took made the show look rustier than ever and Emma a little less classy.
What did you think of this sketch? I’d watch Fred do Joy Behar all day, BTW.
I didn’t think the impression was terribly offensive, I just thought it was BORING and she seemed like she was holding back. The only reason I tuned in to the show was to see her impression, because it had the potential to be fantastic. Meh.
I had such high hopes for this season after watching the premier last month. Unfortunately, it’s been almost all down hill since that episode. The only saving graces have been Weekend Update and the new addition of Jay Pharoah with his great impressions of Will Smith and Denzel Washington. I think Lorne Michaels probably needs to retire and let some fresh blood in on the production side.
I didn’t think it was offensive either. & it’s not her fault it wasn’t funny. She didn’t write the script.

It was just boring. It had potential, it was just terribly dull. SNL is kind of dead. = /
Wow. On the principle, I disagree with them making fun of Lindsay. But really? What stood out in this skit was Emma Stone’s TERRRRRIBLE impression that was completely DULL. if she wants to make fun of Lindsay, she should at least leave us thinking SHE can act. But all I could think was a) when is this going to get funny? & b) Lindsay could out-act her any day. Shiittt.
I agree with most the posters, not offensive, but also not funny. I don’t even think she really made fun of LiLo. It was just boring.
