So did anyone make it to the end of the show to see Kanye perform the Ultimate Frat Boy/Shitty Ex-Boyfriend/Rapist anthem “Runaway” aka “Toast For The Douchebags”? If you didn’t, be glad. The message of this song gave me nightmares.
You see, Kanye wanted to make an anthem for all those guys you sleep with who never call, the guys who tell blab to their friends what you’re like in bed, the ones that make you feel like a jerk for caring. Total shitheads, basically. Because he identifies himself as one of them, obviously.
While I hate to admit it, there’s something a little clever about this jam. It’s true. This is very much a type of person and to my knowledge, they’ve never been portrayed in a song favorably. I guess someone had to do it.
Still, with MTV’s super impressionable audience and your typical rap listener not really taking into the account the meaning behind a song’s lyrics, I fear that this is going to become some sort of anthem for poorly behaved men. Pop songs allow for social forgiveness. Look at “Blame It On The Alcohol” or “It Wasn’t Me”. Last thing our world’s women need is a bunch of lame dudes with shitty behavior toasting themselves because Kanye said it was OK.

Lighten up Molls for Christ’s sake! Girls do the same fucking shit to men also. The only difference is this shit-skin wrote a song about men doing it to woman. Instead of fucking pissing and moaning about it write and sing your own God damn song. You’re such a fucking moron.
Molls, did you actually listen to the lyrics? He’s telling the girl to run away (hence the name of the song…). He’s not glorifying his actions, he’s lamenting them. Did you honestly think lines like “Let’s have a toast for the jerk offs, that would never take work off” are meant to have any positive meaning at all?
What is this song. Like ignore the horrible message this may be the worst thing Kanye has ever produced. Ever. Vocoder? really?
Let’s not mention the horrible performance… was this the magical ending they promised us at the beginning of the show (commercial)?

Eminem had shit in his pants and was waving his arms in disgust and forgot to hire someone to tell him the show wasn’t actually a show, but a long rant about his botoxed-lifestyle.

Im sorry, but you did not grasp the concept or even come close to the reality of what the lyrics meant. If you have listened to previous songs by Mr.West, then you know It goes deeper than face value ma’am. I am not meaning any disrespect. Kanye is a d*ckhead, yes BUT Kanye is a very VERY talented musician that let his ego get in the way. I forever will be a fan of his music.. since “threw the wire”
