We’re taking the day off around here to enjoy the start of summer. We assume you’re doing the same, and we’re sad for the people (you know who you are) who are spending their day off trolling around a site like this leaving mean comments. Get outside and drink some beer and try saying that shit to someone’s face for a change.

Obviously you read it quite often since most of you mention personal things attributed to her. Attacking other people’s education and religion is absolutely what our vets fought for, right?       • Alice and Amanda, how many memorials did you attend? I was at three honoring veterans. How many people do you know who died alone and frightened for US? I know two. So, if I spent 10 minutes on the internet, it was a sideline to the most important part of this day. Having a small modicum of respect for others is what I consider “mature”.

      • Fun story. I helped assist vets in a parade. Threw a party for my family in honor of my fallen grandfather and spent the afternoon setting up flowers on the memorials of my relatives you had passed away in wars and for others reasons. My comment was not about being on the internet, it was about being on the internet and clearly being disrespectful towards other people on a day while simultaneously preaching respect.

  • Maybe the comments proved Beet’s point, but maybe the point wasn’t the one to make, y’know? Nobody’s saying don’t enjoy the beginning of summer, but hey. We’re at war. Some of us know people who died or were injured in this war. This day has been set aside for Americans to commemorate, even if briefly, their sacrifice. It bears mentioning. And it’s a solemn thing, not a Happy! thing. Is it immature? really? So sorry you think so.

  • Well just a suggestion, how about you take the advice and raise a beer in honor of all the fallen soldiers? I’m sure they would want you to celebrate their sacrifices in a happy manner instead of sitting at home slitting all your wrists. Be happy that you have your life! Make the most of it and let them know that they fought for good reason.

  • Memorial Day is to be commemorated however you wish. Cracking a cold one and spending time with family and friends is a great way for many to say thank you to the service men and women for defending our country. For me, it’s about enjoying my freedom and quality of life that these selfless people have helped to preserve. It’s not a fucking sad, boo-hoo holiday. I too, said Happy Memorial day today to the cashier as I was checking out after getting all my picnic fixings. Bitch gave me lecture. I gave it right back. One of us was left crying– it wasn’t me.

    So, all of you self righteous assholes pull your head out of your ass and realize that today CAN be celebrated. There is no shame in celebrating your freedom that was won by the hard work of others. It doesn’t mean you don’t care.

    • Today can be a celebration of sorts, but not for the “hard work of others” as you so ignorantly claim. If dying in distant countries away from loved ones while defending the freedom of others is just merely hard work I suggest you go to your local gun range and have the patrons fill you with lead and you can do some “hard work” of your own.       I do not care that Beet mentioned celebrating the start of summer, and cracking open a cold one, what kills me is that the selfless sacrifice of so many to defend her right to be an ignorant, unappreciative cunt, do not even get a call out. Not even as a fucking foot note.
