Not gonna lie, I got my first bikini at age 12. It was green and blue and pretty tiny. My Mom picked it out for me. But also there were no such things as digital cameras or video phones back then so I never took slut pics, and my Mom or an adult was always with me when I was swimming.

It’s definitely a double standard, and it’s sad to see some of the women writers on this site still calling other chicks “sluts” to cut them down. Everyone’s up in arms because they think the only reason people were offended by Lambert’s sex simulation onstage is because Lambert is gay. When in fact most people would be offended by ANY sexual act being simulated on live television, regardless of the genders of the participants. If I want to watch sex on TV I’ll watch porn. I don’t need to see that on network TV, when I might be with my parents or my nieces. AWKWARD. God, don’t you hate it when maxipad commercials come on when you’re watching TV with your dad? Anyway… why does everything have to be so “shocking” now to be cool or interesting?

While I am not a Miley fan AT ALL, I think it’s silly to make a big deal out of a teenager wearing a bikini. What is she supposed to wear? A full length dress? Even if she wore a one piece bathing suit, she’d be “showing too much leg.” It’s really a ridiculous concept to think that her wearing a bikini is wrong. And the tattoo…. well that’s a different story.
