One Member of Miley’s Crew Dies in Bus Crash

First of all, Miley and her family are safe, don’t let the headline freak you out too badly. However, one of the four busses used in her tour flipped over last night in Richmond, VA while on the way to the star’s next show in Greensboro, NC.

The bus that flipped was mainly used to stage lighting and there were a handful of crew members on board, but the one presumed to be dead is the bus driver. All other nine passengers on board, however, did suffer minor injuries.

At this time it’s not clear why the bus drifted away from the pack. These accidents often happen due to weather, intoxication, mechanical issues with the vehicle or unicorns. OK. I made that last one up.

  • This was brutally written. I had to read the second paragraph a few times just to see if it even made sense. Even I proof-read my responses before submitting. Here’s some grammar tips for you:
You wrote: “Frist off, Miley and her family is safe, don’t let the headline freak you out too badly.”
Obviously, the first word of your post is spelled incorrectly. Well done. Secondly, when you have more than one person in a sentence you have to refer to, you should use the word “are” not “is”. Try reading it out loud and you’ll actually hear that what you wrote SOUNDS stupid. Please proof-read your work before posting. It’s just, you know, your job.

    • “Here’s some grammar tips for you” > My usual canned response: Pot, meet kettle.

“I had to read the second paragraph a few times just to see if it even made sense.” > You’d make a very poor editor. Basic reading comprehension is also part of the job.

      • Dear Dan,

THANK YOU for pointing out my glaring grammatical errors. Molls: I should have written Here ARE some grammar tips for you.

Now, who can spot what’s wrong with my sentence, “I had to read the second paragraph a few times just to see if it even made sense.”

        Anyone care to play?

  • Wow, this used to be a scathingly funny, well written site. WTF happened and what are the hiring parameters? Two firing brain cells and no talent at all as a writer?

  • is “first off” good grammar?

anyhoo, nice rosy-cheeked cherub photo of the troll that is Miley Cyrus.

and deep condolences to the families and loved ones of the traffic accident victims.

  • ps. i doubt the bus was used to stage lighting. i am pretty sure it was used to transport people, who may be the crew members who stage the lighting for the troll that is Miley Cyrus’ shows.

  • What I find most interesting about the banter today: We seem to be having more fun with each other than reading the actual posts.

  • What do you mean by “don’t freak out”…i’m sure the family of the bus driver isn’t relieved that it was him instead of Miley. Let’s quit pretending that thje lives of these celebrities are worth any more, or less, than those of the hard working people of this world.

  • i’m surprised no one’s pointed out that “buses” is misspelled. i wasn’t going to say anything because i didn’t want to seem like a dick, but apparently having fun with grammar / contempt and being a dick are the themes of this comment section.

i object, and not infrequently, to things on this site as well, and i enjoy recreational wordplay as much as the next blissfully over-critical, over-educated and overly verbal new yorker. yet in most cases i feel that the hurt my comments might cause the person for whom they’re intended far outweighs both the purely theoretical and largely negligible improvement of one website intended almost entirely for entertainment and the momentary, guilt-tainted pleasure i might take in tossing snarky remarks from behind the shield of internet anonymity.

molls, i feel like buying you a chocolate chip cookie.
