And you know what? I love it. Is it un-hip in the world of snark to love Lady Gaga? Maybe, but I kind of do. I love this song, and I love the creative fashion in this video. I sometimes get annoyed with her running off to parties and awards shows in her avant-garde garb, but a music video is exactly where that shit belongs, and she pulls it off here with panache. The bathtub scene kind of reminds me of that scene in Britney’s “Everytime” video, but much cooler. And make sure to stay tuned until the last shot, which is hilarious and awesome.
Can someone tell me what she’s saying during the French part? Is that even French? I took a semester in college, but, ya know, I was pretty drunk in college. Actually, I took that final wasted — because who the fuck schedules a final exam at 8:30 pm on a Friday and expects a 19-year-old me to show up sober, right? — and got the highest score in the class. Actually I thought that to during the video. But when I paid closer attention I noticed that her ‘skinny’ is fake. It’s part of the art direction. Her spine is sticking out of her back in a way that only copious makeup can achieve. I think it’s part of the ‘I’m obessed, so obessed I cant even eat’ theme.
Well, it’s obvious in those bathtub parts that the skinny was deliberate… but don’t you notice in those dance scenes where she’s wearing a barely there suit? She’s lost some curves.
I thought that too at first. But if you watch the video closer, you will notice theirs a ‘monster’ her and then just normal her… if gaga is ever normal lol. The monster side as written on the coffins, is bug-eyed and very very thin with a very long torso, too tiny waist and popped out spine. But the rest of her in the video isn’t warped and she actually did lose weight. You can see it in her video with beyonce as well ‘video phone’.
Strange yet mesmerizing. I love the lingerie set and the shoes she’s wearing in that spinning part!
I really really want to like Lady Gaga … her fashion sense is extraordinary, and she has a vibe I should sync to. I realized that the reason I don’t like her songs is that the lyrics are always crap. This song is no exception. I like the video, but I can’t get into it because of the weird and stupid lyrics. Same for Paparazzi –I watched the extended version, and felt like I should have loved it, especially with Skarsgaard’s participation, but the lyrics again were so stupid. If they were just tweaked a little!

I love this video but I started to really like Lady Gaga when I saw a couple of videos of her performing her songs acoustically, without all the special effects. She has a great voice; she can really sing (ahem, Britney) and I think her synth pop sound doesn’t do her talent justice.
