Big Brother 11 Announces Winner

I’ll talk about this after the jump as to not spoil it for our friends who still have the finale on Tivo.

Okay, so I don’t watch Big Brother.  I think I may have watched like, Big Brother 1.  This show has changed; now the contestants have to run on a log during a snowstorm?

Anyway, I spent an inordinate amount of time this morning watching clips of previous episodes and I have to tell you:  this is a huge amount of work for a half-million dollars.  (I think you only win $250,000 on The Biggest Loser but you also get a skinny ass and healthy heart and isn’t that invaluable?)  Factoring in taxes, you could earn the same amount working at a high-stress finance job for five years.  Or as a plumber for three years.  And, honestly?  Either option is so much more appealing than being locked in a studio with those crazies.

So, Jessica Simpson Jordan won.  I’ll need to rely on the BB11 fans to tell me if this is a good thing or not.

  • kevin deserved it most out of the final three. jordan didnt deserve to be there, either. she was a poor competitor and jeff carried her with him til the end. without him, she never would have made it. but she’s a sweet kid. nice to see the good guy win something.

  • The look on Natalie’s face when Jessie didnt vote for her was effin priceless.
Even at the end when she came out of the BB House, no one gave a shit.
    I loved it!!!!

Personally, Casey was my fave houseguest…

  • Its the best outcome.. Other then Jeff winning. I agree with lolly that kevin did a great job but lost at the wrong moment. Wendie, just to let you know Jordan is No Jessica Simpson, Jordan does have some brains to win a game that Fifteen people was in. Its sad that you make your opinon of someone from 20min of clips that you tried to educate your self on this show, next time ask someone in your network if they watch the show and let them write the piece! Kinda makes me not like you now.

  • It is a GREAT thing that Jordan won :) She was so genuine and cute and played the game as honestly as possible. Natalie was a liar, and showered about 5 times the entire season.

Let’s not get it twisted about Jordan though. She definitely impressed me with winning the final competitions, but she isn’t exactly a brainiac. Her innocence and silly questions are what makes her so charming!

  • I like the fact that she won. Jordan might not have been the best “competitor”, but she was definitely the nicest person in the house and I think that is why she won. No one could vote her out because she was so sweet and just a little “Jessica Simpson-ish”. And, Wendie, I agree, she does look like her!! (No where in your post did I see you compare the two on the merits of their brains, so Chris was reading a little into it, I think.)

    • Michele that’s exactly what my kid said!! Julie Chenbot’s hubby is Les Moonves-you’d think the wardrobe budget would be bigger! It was a huge fashion don’t.
I was glad Jordan won also-a sentimental favorite. Kevin should get some kind of TV gig out of this, and Natalie was evil. Jordan did pull it out at the end winning two comps, and choosing the right person to go to finals with.
I didn’t love anyone this year the way I loved Evil Dick and Dr Will, but I did root for Jordan and Jeff. Oh and Russell sounded remarkably sane last night-and Jessie is still King Douche.

  • I’m a HUGE BB fan. I want to apply for the show one day but I dunno if my skin is thick enough for how much the fans rip the house guests apart. Although Jordan is a way better human being then Natalie (who was just amazingly annoying, never showered, ate her boogers while the world was watching, and just had the most annoying monotone voice and ceiling eyes I’ve ever seen) Jordan didn’t really play the game what so ever. It was just pure luck. I was rooting for the fabulous Kevin and was hoping he would be the first BB winner who was gay. He got the shaft. But in the end, Jordan did need the money so I’m glad she got it over the other one.

  • The comments are the best thing about EB.

“Kinda makes me not like you now.” made me laugh.

    Out loud.

Also, British BB – original (?) and worst. In fact, all BB is shit. I’m glad you don’t watch it, Wendie :P
Absolutely RUINED Orwell’s coinage of the word.

  • Pretty much agree w/ what everyone else is saying. I’m a huge BB fan!! I am happy Jordan won. I would have been just fine w/ Kevin winning but definitely NOT Natalie. Something, no EVERYTHING, about her was irritating. I also loved Casey & didn’t think he could ever win but wish he would have made it a little farther in the game. I didn’t understand why alot of the people hated Michelle? I even read alot of the BB11 blogs that told you all the stuff that was happening in the house & could just never see what some of the other housemates saw. Jeff is sooo hot & funny & I just love him. Last night it was GREAT when he told Julie he’d see what the outcome of the game was before deciding on weather or not him & Jordon would continue to see each other! I hope they go to Hawaii together. I was ABSOLUTLY stunned that Jessie voted for Jordan & not Natalie (I think everyone was!) I think maybe it’s because he really liked her (Nat) & was disappointed that her boyfriend proposed. (And by disappointed, I mean jealous!) As for if you should watch the show or not, Wendie, I just think to really appreciate the show you gotta really get into it (like me :->) so you gotta make sure you have the time (& no life) to commit! Oh & I set my DVR to record The Early Show this morning but it went on the fritz just this afternoon & everything that I had on there was erased. Did anyone watch it? Did anything good happen? Thanks!

    • I thought michelle was really sweet. I didn’t understand why they all demonized her either. Stupid Ronnie.

I agree with you RE: Jessie not voting for natalie. Did you see his face when Michelle told him natalie was engaged!? Sheer horror and disappointment. They totally had something romantic going on in the house.

    • michelle was my favorite too, and like the others, i couldn’t see what she did that made her “satan”. she played a smart game and outperformed all the girls and most of the guys every time. i also agree that big brother is time consuming. not only is it on several times a week but every episode is packed with so much scheming and strategizing, the game plan changes every week. love it!

  • Oh I love this show. I don’t think Jordon played the best game. She did slide through, but it was a strategy that worked, so I think she deserves it just the same. I am so happy Natalie didn’t win. I don’t think I could handle her loud monotonous voice for another second. Someone needs to tell her to use her ‘inside voice’.

I thought it was hilarious when Julie asked Jessie and Lydia about their sexual adventures. They were PISSED.

Another thing I loved… going back a few episodes. When Natalie’s BF proposed to her. Him in a suit, her with greasy hair and sweatpants…
    BF: “Will you marry me?”
    Natalie: “Hells yeah! Cool.”
I’m sure it was everything he imagined.

    • Yeah, and Natalie cried and cried when Jessie got evicted but when her boyfriend proposed she didn’t shed one tear! Look I don’t think Natalie’s evil or anything (none of them were – well, except for maybe that sociopath Lydia) but there sure wasn’t anything likeable about her either. Not. A. Thing.

      • no, I don’t think anyone is evil either. It was really mean how russel would follow people around and bully them. His actions when he was angry made me dislike him a tone. But no one is evil. In regards to natalie, I’d say annoying is the most appropriate word to describe how I feel about her. Oh yes, and Lydia was emotionally labile. She was all over the place. Not the classiest drunk either haha.

  • I’m so glad Jordan won! Natalie and Kevin are both lying backstabbers and neither one of them deserved to be on BB. Jordan is the one who really needed the money. I wish Jeff would’ve won, but oh well. I HATE JESSIE though, omg. I hate him. And Lydia.
