The Co-Directors of the Miss California U.S.A. pageant will hold a press conference on Monday to announce the fate of Carrie Prejean, whose tiara has been put in jeopardy due to possible contract violations stemming from public appearances she made with opponents of same-sex marriage and some undisclosed topless underwear ads she made as a teen.
The first runner up in the Miss California pageant will be present at the press conference, if that gives you any sort of hint as to which way this is going to go. Donald Trump has scheduled a press conference for later in the day, when he will talk about the controversy and gross everyone out with his disgusting, perpetually puckered butthole lips.
Even later in the day, the world will hold its own press conference to announce that everyone can now return to their normal state of not giving a crap about the Miss U.S.A. pageant.

Trump should take Prejean’s crown back. She misrepresented herself in her Miss America contract, period.

If the co-directors of Miss California strip Carrie of her title they will only heighten her celebrity and make her a martyr for the Christian Right. I think it will be a BIG mistake on their part to take her crown away – until she voiced her opinion (albeit, very inarticulately) she was good enough to be their representative. Even if you don’t agree with her she has every right under the 1st Amend to voice her opinion on this issue. Same-sex marriage supporters talk about “hate” being one of the catalysts behind the passage of Prop 8…but some of those same people (eh hmmm, Perez) are turning around and making vicious attacks on Carrie’s character and personal life. Ultimately, I feel kind of bad for the girl.
I agree, C’line. Personally, I would tell California to take the crown and shove it; that I would not want to be affiliated with and organization the does not support my right to speak of my opinions on any stage…

I’m not saying Carrie’s much better, but they should’ve set a precedent with the last Miss USA scandal. And on top of that, the argument that she “isn;t representing CA with her beliefs”….um…didn’t Californians vote against gay marriage? Again, the organization is being hypocritical.
I guess what I’m stuck on is the “undisclosed topless underwear ads.” I mean, if you’re moving up into a certain level of recognition (and Miss California would, I think, fall into that category), surely there is paperwork you have to sign about any of those potentially embarrassing pics or videos coming out of the woodwork.
Why do people do this over and over and over and over again? If you have topless/sexual/whatever stuff out there, isn’t it better to just admit it? It’d make a heck of a lot less of an issue. Prejean could even have trumped (haha) the media had she disclosed the pics in the first place.
