Governor David Paterson plans to introduce a bill on Thursday that would legalize gay marriage in the state of New York.
We’re just going to keep at this shit until all the old people who don’t seem to understand that every life should be treated equal finally die off.

It’s true, once gay marriage is legal everyone will come out of the closet and be like “Thank god! Now I finally get to have all the gay sex I want and STILL get the tax breaks! yes!” What will we do? Madness will ensue! If your logic is true than maybe we will start a tradition of adoption and our country will be able to help those in need from your country and give them a loving and accepting home.

There are some people with whom you cannot argue or debate like an intelligent person. They either aren’t open to acknowledging viewpoints other than their own as valid or they are too stupid to understand what you’re saying. Perhaps I made my judgment call as to which kind of approach I would take with this individual too quickly.
The fact remains, however, that America is a great nation and can only become greater with true equality for all citizens.
Define ‘great’. Obviously equality isn’t in the definition as yet. The military capability you mention hasn’t worked out too well so far, has it? The attitude needs work. Look at which countries are losing power and which are gaining power. Look at which ones allow homosexual marriage, and which do not.
Well Russia, China and Iran are gaining power and they don’t allow gay marriage. Iran doesn’t need to of course because we all know Iran doesn’t have any gay people according to their dickhead Prez.

So, if you very very liberal (not) americans think that “every life should be treated equal”, then why only gay marriages? Why do you discriminate bigamists? Unlike gay marriage (which has never been legal in history) that has a 5000 year old history and culture. We’ve seen it work. So, I ask, if we change the meaning of marriage from “the commitment of a man and a woman”, then why not the union of any people who want to be commited to each other???
This is great news. As an Australian I am happy for this because as much as I hate to admit it..if gay marriage keeps gaining support in the States, Australia should soon to follow.

Unfortunately I know A LOT more homophobic and ignorant young people than I do old. It’s sad but I hope all this publicity will change that…or at least put the homophobes in the minority, see how they like it.
