Today's Evil Beet Gossip

I Voted, Bitches!!!

Hi, guys. I’m still on vacation, so Wendie’s going to be helping out a little bit today. All together now: “Thanks, Wendie!”

Seriously, though, the election’s coming up fast, and it’s an important time to remember that with great power comes great responsibility. As someone who wields great power, I feel it’s important that I set a positive example for you all. As such, I stopped by the early voting place on Friday afternoon on my way to the airport for my vacation, and I voted, after waiting in line for 90 minutes. It actually wasn’t that bad waiting in the line. We all made friends, and lots of people brought their adorable kids, some in Halloween costumes. And it was kind of cool to see such a cross-section of ages and races and personalities and styles, all lined up and patiently waiting for their turn to vote. No one was whining or bitching, which surprised me. I guess that’s just because I’m a spoiled brat whose knee-jerk reaction to even a minor inconvenience is to begin whining immediately and refuse to stop until someone has resolved the issue for me. It turns out most of the world doesn’t operate like that. Weird. Maybe they haven’t noticed how well it works.

Anyway.

Here are some of the cell-phone pics I took while waiting in line to vote. I know they’re not particularly exciting, but I’m hoping they’ll serve as a reminder to you that ALL SORTS OF PEOPLE are showing up at the polls in droves to take advantage of their right to vote, even when it’s not convenient.

You need to be there, too.

  • LOL

    “ALL SORTS OF PEOPLE”…. ???

You mean the 3 black people to the left. Amazing…aint it? I was shocked the first time I saw one too.

You should walk in and start singing “All sorta of people up in here, up in here……Ya’ll gonna help me speak my mind…up in here…up in here”

    They love it!

  • i voted on saturday, and i too was amazed by all the different people that were there and how no one complained about the obscenely long wait standing out in the hot florida sun.

  • I voted on Saturday! Woohoo! Only had to stand in line for fifteen minutes. I guess I got lucky b/c everyone else I talked to stood in line for at least an hour.
But, yeah. I voted early, too.

  • That’s beautiful… so am I the only one that’s gonna ask??? Who did you vote for Beet? You know we all wanna know!!!!!

  • Lol @ TSS

Ugh, and I thought I already had enough of Wendie during weekends.. Now I have to endure more this week. Pathetic.

  • i know i’ll catch holy hell over this comment, but i guess you noticed that the black dude on the left is having to ask the white worker just where to write ‘tony romo’ where it says PRINT NAME.

  • Beet, it’s illegal to take a camera phone into a voting precinct. So you might want to not advertise that you broke the law.

  • No it’s not illegal ffs.. Actually they have been promoting on tv, to actually take a picture of who you voted for, just in case.

    Good for you Beet!

I just seen on Tv that Mccain has 54% of the votes… Is that true? Where’s all the Obama ppl??? GO VOTE NOW!! ffs..

  • Ok im sorry.. i take that back.. it is actually illegal to take pics.. it was on the news that a guy texted his friends saying they shouldnt have to worry about being in line to vote, that if they were voting for obama, they could go home and come back tomorrow and re-vote or some shit like that.. And they tracked him and the police got him and he is in a lot of shit.. Just for doing that, so now i believe it is illegal.. Sorry about my first comment…
