Quotables

“They’re going to talk about pigs, and they’re going to talk about lipstick; they’re going to talk about Paris Hilton, they’re going to talk about Britney Spears. They will try to distort my record, and they will try to undermine your trust in what the Democrats intend to do.”

Barack Obama, discussing the Republican strategy at a campaign stop in New Hampshire.

My Lord.

Now both parties have invoked the names of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears in formal campaign activities.

Wow.

  • I can’t help but wonder why Obama didn”t choose Hilary Clinton as his running mate…? I think it’s because all the white men around him are afraid of her.
This country has been run by rich old white men for way too long – we need change.

  • Wait, who used the lipstick on pigs comment first? Oh yeah, Obama did, and boy did he get a laugh! So who is sleazy, the guy throwing out sexist insults or the guys and gals pointing out that he did? I’m confused.

  • hillary = change? you’re kidding, right. she’s the biggest insider there is. plus, obama saw what she did to her ‘friend’ vince foster and knew he would have been a walking dead man if he’d chosen her. she’s like one of those women you read about that had 7 husbands, all who died of mysterious circumstances.

plus, what about when hillary called michelle a ‘nappy headed ho’? or was it some other ugly ass, arrogant, white asshole that used that phrase? i’ve slept since then.

  • To Obama the word change is just a campaign slogan, whereas McCain and Palin have actually brought about substantive changes in government. Changes which have helped Americans, while Obama has spent his career just talking about it. Obama has spent most of his time in public office absent from his responsibilities, while ambitiously running for the next rung in the ladder, not to serve the people, but rather to further his own position. And, I’m sure most people could relate to McCain and Palin as fellow Americans, more than they can to the Obamas, who chose to spend TWENTY YEARS in the radical
anti-American racist church of Jeremiah Wright … and chose unsavory associates, such as Farrakhan, Pfleger, Rezko, Ayers, etc.. As for Obama’s phony indignation about being a community organizer … Palin never criticized those efforts, she merely, and rightfully questioned it as being the sole experience and credentials for someone to use as qualifications to become President of the United States … and, even then, it was in response to Obama’s attacks at Palin for being the mayor of a small town, when he also neglected to mention that she was Governor as well.

  • Now both parties have invoked their names?

Are you really as incapable of analysis as the average republican?

He was replying to McCain’s nonsense by including their names in the list of fruitless tactics that McCain’s campaign has tried to use against him.

  • Obama accuses McCain/Palin of attacking his record … what record? Obama is an empty suit who hasn’t done anything. That’s why instead of running on his record, he has to run a campaign based upon attacking McCain/Palin. Obama’s tactic has always been ‘the best defense is a good offense’. For example, Obama will make the pig/lipstick smear, just days after Palin scores points with the ‘pitbull/lipstick statement … then he disingenuously acts as if there’s no connection. He did it again with Palin’s community organizer is similar to a mayor, but with out the responsibility … which everyone knows was Palin’s response to Obama demeaning her experience as a small town mayor. There’s nothing wrong with being a community organizer, but being a community organizer is certainly not credentials for becoming President of the United States! Obama has done this numerous times. The changes Obama wants would dramatically weaken this country, in terms of our economy and our national defense.

  • cesnsorthis, like you don’t know that it was Don Imus referring to a women basketball team. Trash Hillary as much as you want, but don’t put words in her mouth she never used.

  • re: shiri

oh, i’m sure she’s used it. in many private conversations with bill and her g/f she’s used it. and laughed, and laughed, and laughed. don’t think for a minute that she and bill haven’t been throwing around racial slurs about obama and michelle when the microphone’s off.

you, on the other hand, are way too sensitive about closet lesbo’s that wear godawful yellow pantsuits out in public and spew more of the same at the general public hoping it sticks. maybe when she holds obama hostage or she won’t speak for him, he’ll pay off her 30 million dollar debt and she’ll finally buy some nice clothes. i’m sure bill delivered the invoice the other day when he had lunch with obama.

  • Here’s my question…Why is Obama insulting Palin? She’s not running for president. We don’t hear McCain and Palin going after Biden. What does that really say? Biden has been nothing but a Washington politician his whole career. He may have some credentials but no one is saying anything about him. Obama is criticizing Palin so much because she has energized the Republican party, is more in touch with most American’s than both presidential candidates and is threatening his chance to actually win this election.

As far as this lipstick thing goes…it was a joke…a joke when Palin said it in her speech. It could also go for soccer moms, football moms, or softball moms. For Obama to take that and twist it into some kind of insult on Palin proves how scared of her he really is.

  • Why not make Hillary your running mate? Mmmm, maybe because she is a back stabbing petty bitch who is only interested in being president herself. Maybe it is because when you hire one Clinton you get two.

  • The more important thing now is to investigate the corruption of Obama.

Obama was sponsored $250,000 by corrupt and convicte slumlord, Rezko. Obama ignored housing violations in 11 of the 30 housing projects in Obama’s constituency. In addition, he is also connected to other corrupt elements such Auchi.

    http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/03/obamas_iraqi_oil_for_food_conn.html

Obama also got a $300,000 discount by Rezko who bought the lot next door to enable Obama to buy the house for $1.65 million dollar. Rezko can only gain access to the lot though Obama’s house and never develop the lot.

Michelle Obama’s salary jumped from $121,000 prior to Obama’s election to Senate to $360,000 after his election. One of Obama’s earmarks is to provide $1 million to Michelle’ employer for the construction of a pavilion.

Obama spend $1 billions in earmarks in 4 years. The same kind of politics.

    http://jay1949.wordpress.com/2008/08/26/mccain-versus-obama-the-earmarks-issue/

All along, Obama has been the greatest marketeer. He could be the greatest salesman who reinvented himself. People wants to believe him because he is good at using buzzwords such as hope and change. I wish that people would be less naive.

As an Asian American, I am appalled that people cannot see through the facade or the hypocrisy of this corrupt man who practise the worst kind of politics, based on racism…based on popularity…People should look at Obama who has never been moderate. He do whatever is needed to win, even walk away from his integrity to cooperate with a corrupt slumlord, Rezko.

  • Thank you, censorthis–you said it!!!! I DONT like Hillary, for the same reasons as you, plus she’s as megalomaniacal as what I PRAY we put behind us in Nov! (Jan., technically–whatever, none too soon for me, if I can still afford the gas to get to the polling station). I replied b/c I live in great fear of what it’ll be like if Obama doesn’t win!:(! They just better put tranqs in the water then, but-oh, yeah, then who’ll get their asses up to clean their Repubby 6 houses?!?!? PLEASE, GOD, OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • O.K., I suck–I just now read Tim’s viewpoint, & I know there’s more to know about Obama (or any of us, if you’re human!), but after the last 8 LONG years, & Bushy’s daddy administration, which I had the misfortune to be an “earning” adult under not enough years before that, I’ll take almost anything!!! Obama @ least is NOT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Not to demean Senator Obama at all–he DOES give me hope, which I haven’t had since the economic downturn beginning slightly prior to 9/11)

  • It seems to me that the whole world has been laughing at us with the election of President Bush which have left us crying about our economy and alot of other important issues and you people have not had enough. You would have four more years of the same policies that got us into this mess. I get the feeling that Obama could be running against Bozo the Clown and his kid sister and the only issue that they would have to raise is were to build the next circus and you…. people would still vote for them.

  • Obama was NOT referring to Palin when he made that comment! Have those of you who seem to think otherwise actually watched the clip?

Furthermore, I’ve seen other clips of John McCain using that same turn of expression on at least three different occasions. In one instance, he was referring to Hillary Clinton’s health care plan. Did Hillary go off the deep end accusing McCain of insulting her? Just go to YouTube and search on “john mccain lipstick on pig.

The McCain campaign is making a big deal over this because, after nearly 8 years of a Republican administration, both the economy and our foreign policy are in shambles. He has nothing else to talk about, and when he does try to talk about issues, he says something stupid, like confusing Sunnis and Shiites.

  • Oh ashley, i think i love you and your impassioned defense that actually seemed to make sense.

What about the fact that palin has been quoted 7 out of 9 times as lying in her little speeches. What about the fact that John McCain was pro choice just a few years ago. Or that he was quoted saying that this war would be easy, and now says he knew from the start that it would be a challenge. How about the fact that McCain/Palin ticket says their all about change but McCain voted the exact same as Bush 91% of the time! or that Palin says she has majorly been against earmarks has ALREADY asked for close to 200 million for 2009 in said earmarks!

  • Is it just me or is there a reason to be greatly disappointed with all of the current batch of contenders? I truly do enjoy the humor of their mud slinging contest. But, just for balance, I’d like to hear a sentence or two about global warming policy.

Someone in this crowd should have something to say about whether or not we’ll have a world to live in after 2010.
