Lupita Nyong’o is apparently deathly afraid of snakes, but she came up close and personal with one of her biggest fears for Vogue. She posted the behind-the-scenes video on her Instagram account this week – it’s actually from her cover shoot for the magazine from a few months back. She’s so lovely!

Earlier this year, Lupita Nyong’o was announced as the new face of Lancôme cosmetics – a refreshing choice, and one that a lot of people were really pleased with – especially considering she is the world’s Most Beautiful Person!
Now, the first image has been revealed – Lupita leaked it herself on her Instagram page – and it’s really beautiful. Simple, elegant, classy… all the things she has always portrayed herself to be, anyway.
Here’s what she told Vogue about the partnership:
“It’s not about conforming to an already established idea of what is beautiful, and I like that,” echoing what she said in her initial statement, “I am particularly proud to represent [Lancôme's] unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman’s freedom to be herself.”
What do you think of the ad?

2014 is certainly shaping up to be Lupita Nyong’o‘s year, and thank goodness for that – she’s divine! She’s already won an Oscar and signed on as the new face of Lancôme, and now she’s got another honour: she’s People’s Most Beautiful Woman!
Though she grew up thinking that “light skin and flowing, straight hair” made women desirable, World’s Most Beautiful Woman Nyong’o, 31, tells PEOPLE that her mother “always said I was beautiful. And I finally believed her at some point.” The Oscar winner, who’s now a face of Lancôme Paris, is excited for this honor in part because of “all the girls who would see me … and feel a little more seen.”
Good for her! Even though this whole feature is cornball city and only furthers the idea that ladies need to be physically attractive, yada yada. But that’s a tale as old as time, so let’s just embrace this, I suppose. Also, let’s appreciate that Pink is on this list, as is Kerry Washington. Some of the other choices are a bit… incorrect, but whatever.

Look, I know some of you will totally pan this dress and say it’s hideous, but the Chanel Fall 2014 dress she wore last night was AMAZING. The pictures didn’t even do it justice – I just LOVE this thing, particularly at the top. It suits her SO well and she looks incredible.
You can see it a bit better on her Instagram video from last night, when she realized she’d hit a million followers:

Everyone expected America’s sweetheart, Jennifer Lawrence, to go home with the Best Supporting Actress award at last night’s Oscars despite the fact that the character wasn’t all that great and she wasn’t even a major part of the film. Thankfully, that didn’t happen, and in fact Lupita Nyong’o was handed the statue for her amazing work in 12 Years a Slave.
While everyone got a nice surprise in seeing Lupita get the trophy, no one was more shocked than Lupita herself.
“It hasn’t set in,” she said. “I haven’t even slept! It is overwhelming, but at the same time, this is the thing I dreamed for, it’s the thing that I availed myself for. I’m just trying to allow myself to absorb it all.”
Luckily her dream come true is a full-on reality.
“Twelve midnight came and this,” she said, holding her Oscar, “did not disappear.”
Aww, she’s the best. I’m really happy she won – she more than deserved it, and I can’t wait to see what other roles she’ll pick up now that she has this kind of clout behind her.

I’m sure you’ve seen the above photo about 800 times by now. Ellen DeGeneres decided to take her hosting duties at last night’s ceremony to the next level by getting together some of the biggest names in Hollywood to take the ultimate selfie! We’ve got a little Jennifer Lawrence, some Meryl Streep, Bradley Cooper holding the camera, Lupita Nyong’o and Angelina Jolie, Jared Leto struggling to fit in the frame, a little Kevin Spacey, Brad Pitt, Lupita’s brother, Peter… it’s classic.
There’s not really much to say about this, other than that I really like this and everyone is so handsome/beautiful and that the Oscars seem like a nightmare that I would never attend because getting dressed up to that level is like, my worst nightmare. The end.
