Lynne Spears wore a wedding dress to Jamie Lynn’s wedding

jamie lynn spears

Nothing says pure class like your mom wearing a wedding dress to YOUR wedding, right? Good, because that’s exactly what Lynn Spears, mother of Jamie Lynn and Britney, did last Friday when Jamie Lynn tied the knot with fiancé (and now husband) Jamie Watson.

Baton Rouge company I Do Bridal posted the photo on their Instagram page with the following caption:

“It’s official ya’ll! @jamielynnspears is now Mrs. James Watson! We are so happy to have been part of this celebration of love. The beautiful bride, Mrs. Lynne and sweet Maddie all wore custom gowns by @liancarlodesign. More pics to come! Xo.”

Also, BritBrit was there! I’m assuming she went with something that did not look like a wedding dress – here’s hoping, anyway.

But seriously, what the hell is up with Lynn? If I was Jamie Lynn, I’d have been so embarrassed. Hell, I’m not Jamie Lynn and I’m STILL embarrassed on her behalf. Not cool, Mom.

Also also, there’s a lot of “Lynn(e)”s in that family and I just had one of those things where I just looked at the word so long that now it doesn’t seem like a real world anymore.

Jamie Lynn Spears set a wedding date!

Jamie Lynn Spears has really grown up to have her shit together. She’s raising her now 5-year-old daughter Maddie, she’s launching a new country career and she even announced her engagement to boyfriend Jamie Watson this time last year. Well, now she’s ready to take that next step and get herself down the aisle, as the pair have confirmed a date for their wedding.

From US Weekly:

The couple of four years obtained their license from Tangipahoa Parish Clerk of Court in Louisiana on March 5. So, what is their wedding date? The adorable pair will be tying the knot (today!) on Friday, March 14.

Aw, that’s nice! No news on whether they’re having a big ceremony or just sorta hitting up the town hall to get ‘er done, but ah well. I kinda like Jamie Lynn and I don’t really know why, so I hope everything works out for them!

Jamie Lynn Spears Has a Debut Single, Y’all!

jamie lynn spears

Sure, big sister Britney gets most of the attention, but Jamie Lynn Spears did have a burgeoning career at one point… until she got pregnant at 16 and left the limelight (and Zoey 101) for mom life. Now that she’s older and so is her baby, she’s engaged and life is coming together, it’s time to focus on her career again. With that in mind, she’s released a single called ‘How Could I Want More’ and oh snap, it’s actually good! It’s a bit Taylor Swift-ish – that was my first thought – but I think it could do well for her. And guess what – she can actually sing!

The song was inspired by her fiancé, apparently. I’m into it, but I’m not sure why she’s styled so old for the video. She’s only in her early 20s, so why is she dressed like she’s 20 years older? Ah, well, can’t win ‘em all.

Jamie Lynn Spears Ominously Tweets About Justin Timberlake

Jamie Lynn Spears, younger sister of Britney, tweeted something vaguely ominous to Justin Timberlake — and then deleted it. She posted a photo of her, JT, and Brit Brit in a car, while alluding to knowing that his song “Cry Me A River” was written about her sister. Thankfully someone screencapped it before it was lost into the vortex of time. See for yourself:

She GETS IT, guys.

And of course something this juicy had to be deleted. This isn’t Amanda Bynes’ twitter. Little Spears deleted it and then tweeted this vague explanation for the JT shout out:

Even though Miss Jamie Lynn is a celebrity and knew Mr. Timberlake at one point in time, this still feels like one of those awkward tweets where a fan tweets a celebrity and hopes that they’ll respond.

Anyway, Justin “You Know You Suck As An Actor, Right?” Timberlake is well over Britney at this point and now writes songs about his grandparents, or whatever.

Jamie Lynn Spears Is Engaged, Y’all!

Jamie Lynn Spears‘ career came to a bit of a grinding halt back in 2007 when she announced that she was pregnant at the age of 16. Since then, she’s been dedicating all her time to daughter Maddie, singing a little here and there and apparently getting engaged to boyfriend Jamie Watson.

Britney‘s little sister announced the news via her Instagram page on Saturday, writing, “Guesssss what??????” and posting the above photo. Aw, isn’t that cute? A second photo followed a little later – a close-up of the ring with the caption “#hedidgood”.

Now, either that ring is so expensive that it just looks like he got it from the discount section of Jared or that is actually some cubic zirconium shit. Not that it matters, obviously – it’s all about the love and all that, and I shouldn’t hate. Plus, I wouldn’t wear something like that even if it was real – it’s a tad gaudy.

In any case, good for Jamie Lynn – here’s hoping it’s more successful than Brit Brit’s relationships.

Jamie Lynn Spears “Looks Up” to Britney

Hm. Cute. Jamie Lynn Spears, unlike her big sister, can kind of sing! And by “kind of,” I mean “with the help of heavy, overpowering harmonies” and “low volume.” OK now. I’m going to seriously try to put away all snark for a few minutes, because honestly, the song itself is really sweet, and it’s definitely a tender moment here, guys. Let’s try to recognize, huh?

Ahem. Lyrics, please:

Scared little girl living on a big old world
You’ve outgrown your room
It all happened way too soon

They took away your innocence,
But we’ve still got a strong defense.
If I didn’t get sieved in this,
I’d be lonely.

So whether you’re a blue sky smiling
Or whether you’re a grey sky crying
I look up to you
I look up to you

Whether you’re the sunlight shining down
Or you hide behind a cloud
I look up to you
I look up to you

How do you repay a love song by the grave?
You hold out your hand and send me to sleep
But we won’t let it get the best of us,
We won’t fade away like dirt road dust
Cuz no matter what love still remains

So whether you’re a blue sky smiling
Or whether you’re a grey sky crying
I look up to you
I look up to you

Whether you’re the sunlight shining down
Or you hide behind a cloud
I look up to you
I look up to you

Southern days
Your silly face
In our memories they can’t replace.
No one else can take their place
But you

So whether you’re a blue sky smiling
Or whether you’re a grey sky crying
I look up to you
I look up to you

Whether you’re the sunlight shining down
Or you hide behind a cloud
I look up to you
I look up to you

Scared little girl living in a big old world

That’s actually … it’s really sweet, you know. And one can only assume that it’s about Britney (because it’d be way too morbid to assume that it’s about Jamie Lynn‘s daughter, Maddie, and it’s definitely not about total-f-cking-wacko Mother Spears, because she’s just an ass on legs), and if you watched the video, you probably heard her say in the very beginning, “You can imagine who I wrote it about.” I think that kind of speaks for itself, doesn’t it?

Also, Jamie Lynn here looks and sounds so much like the old Britney we used to know and love so much that it’s almost breathtaking. And eerie. Definitely eerie.

Do You Guys Remember Jamie Lynn Spears?

A photo of Jamie Lynn Spears

Come on, of course you remember Jamie Lynn Spears! She was on Nickelodeon’s shitty revamp of All That, and she also starred in Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101. Another claim to fame is her taxing role as Britney Spears‘ sister. Sadly, her extensive Teen Nick appearances and paparazzi fights ended when she got knocked up at 16, and we haven’t really heard all that much from her since.

UNTIL NOW! Jamie Lynn Spears just did an interview with Glamour, and I can’t help but love every single second of it. Please read through this, and don’t forget to enjoy yourself!

On getting pregnant: It was 2007. I had been on a Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101, and after we wrapped shooting, I just wanted to go home to Louisiana and finish high school, be a cheerleader, all that. Then I found out I was pregnant [by then- boyfriend Casey Aldridge]. I was 16. I’d had one boyfriend. It doesn’t make it perfect or all right. But I was judged for something that probably most everyone does. I was young. I was in love. I was like every other teenager, except I had this last name. And I made a decision that is forever my decision.

Why she didn’t use birth control: I believe in safety and birth control as prevention. But like many young girls…I was really scared to go to the doctor. And I was on a Nickelodeon show, and it [felt] especially embarrassing to ask someone to put me on birth control. I didn’t want to ask my doctor, because she had a little girl.

On the reaction from her fans: I did feel responsible for the young girls and the mothers who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn’t trying to glamorize teen pregnancy. I hated when [the tabloids] said that. Everybody is dealt a hand of cards. It was my choice to play them the way I played them. But the hateful comments hurt.

On Teen Mom: When I saw MTV’s Teen Mom was coming out, I remember thinking, Oh my God, I cannot wait to see this show because there’s someone else out there. I mean, I feel for those girls. I’ve been that girl. It does show that motherhood is hard. There were so many times—especially when Maddie would get sick—when I would cry to myself and think, I really don’t know what to do. It takes bravery to be a young mom, and it does take bravery to let the world watch.

On Britney: She’s in such a good place right now. She’s in love. She has her kids. So I’m happy for her. Of course, [our bond as mothers], it’s such a big thing, you know? Especially ’cause there’s an age gap there—she’s 10 years older. I think if I were just a normal 20-year-old, I wouldn’t be able to relate as much to her.

On her music: I was a kid who did a kid show. Then I went away and raised my child, and the world has never met me as an adult. This is the first time anybody is really meeting me as a grown woman and grown mother making a decision about what to do with my life. Do people have an idea of who they think I am? Yes, and that’s fine with me. My music will speak for itself.

On this year: I’ll admit, I’m kind of scared; it’s a vulnerable place for me. But I think 21 will be the year for me. I hope it will be. Maybe even a boy—I don’t know. Six feet tall, blond, brown, tan…I don’t care. I’m excited for 21. Twenty-one is just going to be fearless.

There aren’t enough “ugh”s in the world to cover this.  “I was like every other teenager,” no, Jamie, you weren’t.  I know this for I was also a teenager, and I managed to escape those hellish years without getting pregnant.  Shockingly enough, I also know several other ladies who did that exact same thing.  It’s really not that hard, you just have to be careful, and if you choose to have sex, you should take precautions.  I think if you’re mature enough to have the sex, you should be mature enough to ask your doctor for birth control, even if your doctor has a child herself*.

All that being said, are you excited at the prospect of this year being the year of Jamie Lynn Spears?

*Is this real logic?
