This is the second trailer released in the past few weeks for the new Footloose reboot, and if you weren’t completely convinced by the first trailer that this movie was going to blow goats, this should really do you in for the day.
First, I didn’t really realize just how many explosions I must have missed during the original film. Also? My massive respect for Dennis Quaid, who’d only recently made amends with The Day After Tomorrow, has waned. Do we really want to go back to doing stuff like Spongebob Squarepants and Dinner With Friends, Dennis? Do we?

Could this be the most amazing photograph of Dennis Quaid ever? His dog is so fat.
Over at BWE, Dan Hopper has already captioned this photograph with SIX amazing pug puns (my favorite was “In Good Compugny”).

At the White House Correspondents’ dinner last night, Jessica Simpson revealed her one true wish: to be Michelle Obama.
“I really do [want to be Michelle Obama]. She’s such an incredible woman, and she’s with such a powerful man. Everything she does she exudes confidence. I’m really just here to celebrate her.”
Shoot for the moon, Jess. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.
On the topic of stars, the Correspondents’ dinner was full of them. Guests included Justin Bieber (who, in my opinion, is the songbird of this generation), Jessica Alba, the Jonas Brothers, Dennis Quaid, Kim Kardashian, Scarlett Johansson, Gabourey Sidibe, Queen Latifah, and a good few more. Check out the gallery to see such things as Justin Bieber and Marlon Wayans flashing gang signs and Gabourey Sidibe being in desperate need of a new stylist (and before you guys hate on me, I’m not saying anything about her being a big girl, I’m just saying that there are ways to flatter every body type, and homegirl needs to work that out).

As Wendie already told you today, Dennis Quaid was let off the hook on a DUI charge by some cops who must have liked his work in The Rookie or something. The story goes like this: Quaid and his lady had too many drinks at their fancy pants dinner, Quaid assumes he’s sober enough to drive, but his drunkenness is visible enough because two cops rolled up next to him in a car and suggested that he take a cab. Quaid took their kind adviced and ditched his wheels for a taxi. And now? Now we’ve got the photos to illustrate the incident:

I knew this was coming!
After Meg Ryan started talking shit about old-school drama, claiming Dennis Quaid cheated on her regularly during their marriage, Dennis is speaking up to defend himself.
“It was eight years ago, and I find it unbelievable that Meg continues publicly to rehash and rewrite the story of our relationship,” he says. “Also, I find it regrettable that our son, Jack, has to be reminded in a public way of the turmoil and pain that every child feels in a divorce … I, myself, moved on years ago and am fortunate to have a happy, beautiful family.”
Dennis, as you’ll recall, remarried Kimberly Buffington, who later gave birth to twins.

DRAMA!!!
Eight years after their split, Meg Ryan is FINALLY willing to talk about her split from Dennis Quaid.
“Dennis was not faithful to me for a very long time, and that was very painful,” she says in the new issue of InStyle. “I found out more about that after I was divorced.”
And as for her scandalous relationship with Russell Crowe? “I think he took a big hit. But Russell didn’t break up the marriage. He was definitely there at the end, but it wasn’t his fault. I was a mess. I hurt him too at the end. I couldn’t be in another long relationship, it wasn’t the time for that. So I got out … My time as a scarlet woman was really interesting. As painful as it was, it was also incredible liberating. Now I was utterly free. I didn’t have to care about what people thought.â€
Meg also talks about being dubbed America’s Sweetheart: “It’s an old-fashioned idea, so anachronistic. I understood it was a compliment about being lovable, and it felt nice … but it also felt, after a time, like ideas were being projected onto me that had nothing to do with me,” she says. “The girl next door to what? I never felt like a very conventional person.”
It’s always fascinating to me when celebrities talk about their pasts many years later. This puts a whole new spin on Meg for me. I wonder what Paris Hilton will have to say about these past few years in another decade or so.
And I wonder if Dennis Quaid will be telling HIS side of the story now.
