Tiger Woods Releases Statement

tiger_woods

After canceling an interview with the Florida Highway Patrol that was scheduled for today, Woods released a statement on his website, Tigerwoods.com, that didn’t do anything to clear up the sketchy circumstances surrounding his mysterious car crash early Friday morning, but basically told everyone to butt the hell out of his biznass.

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I’m pretty sore.

This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.

This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.

The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.

This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.

And he’s absolutely right. There’s nothing unusual about one of Tiger Wood’s drives ending up in some trees. (ba-dum-ching!)

Seriously though, I didn’t know you could just cancel an interview with law enforcement. To  me, those repeated cancellations just reek of “I’m waiting for some kind of substance to clear out of my blood stream’  because he’s already lawyered up.

My personal theory is that there were drugs involved that rendered him unconscious before the crash and actually caused the collision. He was unconscious and mumbling when authorities arrived, but the airbags in his vehicle never deployed- meaning that the collision shouldn’t have been hard enough to knock him out.

  • I was thinking the same thing. Can anyone who wrecks their car in Florida keep telling the police to go away and come back when it’s more convenient?

    • word!

i mean, i know he’s ‘godlike’ and all – but wtf? why is he able to have this interview at *his* convenience? i didn’t realize that rules didn’t apply in his case…

      boo.

      • If you read the news you would know that in the state of Florida you do not have to give a statement to the police when in an accident. As long as you show them a valid drivers license, registration, and proof of insurance that’s it. After their third attempt the police said they will not try any longer to interview him and will finish their investigation without his statement.

  • I love that he’s even able to ‘postpone’ the interview with police.

I’ll keep that in mind when my ass gets in trouble for something.

“Sorry, not in the mood to talk right now – will let you know when I am”

    lolz

      xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Or his wife beat him with the club and knocked him flat on his ass? He already went to the hospital so if they were going to find him under the influence, it would have been then. He’s covering for her!

  • The circumstances really don’t matter. He has a right to privacy. He has the right to cancel the interview because it is a traffic related incident & not a criminal one. Kuddos to him for keep tight lipped, he owes the public nothing.

      • Thanks for the link Alicia. I heard that on one of the cable news channels and wanted to post a link but couldn’t find it! He is not getting special treatment. He has provided DL, insurance and registration which is all that is required by Florida law.

    • Well, whether or not he has to talk to them, he should. He’s ruining his reputation. If it was all on the up and up, what’s ge got to lose?

      • I don’t think he should. Why should he? Is it because there are nosy people out there who have nothing better to do? He plays pro golf, we should only be concerned about his golf game. Our society cares way too much about what other people are doing. If Michael Vick can repair his image Tiger should have no problem. He had a fight with his wife. BIG DEAL! And you know it may not have been on the up & up, none of our business!!

      • You retort is kind of ironic being posted on a gossip site and all. Your opinion is no more valid than mine. He should because he took out a public fire hydrant. How about that? He’s not just a golfer. He is a celebrity. Don’t play stupid. You know that 99.9% of the people in this country would have talked to the police. He’s being an ass because he is a wealthy celebrity golfer and because he definitely has something to hide.

      • I, too, could see the irony as I was responding. I didn’t say my opinion was more valid, I just said I didn’t agree. We can agree to disagree. He is not required by law to make a statement so the public shouldn’t require on either. If someone had something to hide they most definitely would NOT talk to police. If you would that’s stupid.

      • Not to mention, he posted something on the internet himself. I presume it was an effort to save his reputation.

  • I guess he can postpone interviews with authorities since he isn’t charged with anything yet? That’s the only thing I can guess without him getting a pass because of his celebrity.

I’m also think this reeks of cover up, either to protect his wife or to sleep off the drugs…

    • A “cover up” has to “sleep off the drugs”. Hahahaha
Fuckers like you watch way to much TV. Do people like you have any brains? What kind of life’s do you live? If he gets a “pass because of his celebrity” should you get one because of your “stupidity”?

  • My theory is that his wife assaulted him, he tried to get away, and crashed. He’s not speaking in order to protect her, and since his state doesn’t require a statement, he has the right to keep his mouth shut. He had bruising, cuts, and lacerations, but there was no blood found in the car (from CNN).

If he was assaulted, it would be interesting to see how the public would react. Chris Brown and Rihanna was a horrible situation , and it was rightfully discussed, but a Tiger vs. Elin Woods situation would probably keep most people quiet. IF she assaulted him, shame on her. Violence is never the answer to anything. Period.

    • She IS pretty scary looking. Domestic violence could also have something to do with it; I could see her chasing him down the driveway with a golf club.

  • This is some Lohan shiz right here.

If this is totally unrelated to the cheating allegations, that’s one HUGE coincidence, because I’ve only seen him in the gossip blogs twice in the last few years, and they were one right after the other. ‘Tiger cheated’. Next day, ‘Tiger’s in a suspicious accident’. Weird. I hope his family is ok.
