I’ve always really liked Alec Baldwin. His politics were seemingly spot on and he’s incredibly talented – definitely one of the best comedic actors of his generation, able to play the straight man (no pun intended) and further the hilarity of whatever piece (see 30 Rock for a perfect example). However, lately he’s becoming more and more of a bastard, and it’s a shame.
You know the story by now: he got in another fight with a reporter, used another gay slur, got suspended from his MSNBC show and then ultimately fired. While most decent people would realise the error of their ways and really reflect on that and work on what motivated that behaviour to begin with, Alec just thinks his dismissal is a victory for gay rights activists and it’s their fault it happened at all. I’m rolling my eyes.

But you’ve got the fundamentalist wing of gay advocacy—Rich Ferraro and Andrew Sullivan—they’re out there, they’ve got you. Rich Ferraro, this is probably one of his greatest triumphs. They killed my show. And I have to take some responsibility for that myself.”
I should say that there are also claims that he flipped out when he wanted a makeup room at MSNBC, shouting about how he didn’t care if the woman in it at the moment had cancer or not. I don’t even know. How awful. Get some help, Alec.
