Nicki Minaj is a Republican Now Because President Obama Never Answered Her Tweets

I knew I felt a certain way about a certain Nicki Minaj for some reason.

Anyway, the (latest) beef that Nicki’s got with the current government is over heath care and the limited access some people have to it. Nicki took to her Twitter earlier this year to express her dissatisfaction with the nation’s current policy, and how it affected her on a personal level when a friend died because of lack of care:

“Yvette Wilson passed away from cancer tonight. God Bless her. (( Whats sad is that when Yvette was bringing home the bacon, the gov’t was probably taking millions. On her death bed tho, #Nowheretobefound. That should be a God given right! Even with Obama Care, too much involved. Just give FREE health care to all. @barackobama What can we do? @BarackObama I wouldn’t mind the millions they took if it was going to healthcare. Why should a poor person struggle to pay for MEDS sir”

And she’s got a point. Especially the part where she talks about the government getting their piece, but leaving the sick girl high and dry when she needed care. But Nicki must be ill-advised, because Romney, as far as I’m aware, would never have anything to do with universal (let alone “free”) health care. Hell, Mitt Romney probably doesn’t even know who Nicki Minaj is, for crying out loud. But I’m sure he’s just thrilled that there’s someone else out there voting for him before even knowing what they’re talking about.

Funny thing is, Nicki isn’t even registered to vote. From Hip Hop Wired:

If Nicki Minaj makes the decision to endorse Mitt Romney in the forthcoming election, she may want to take care of something first: registering to vote. Minaj was flooded with media clips Tuesday (Sept. 4) when a snippet from her lyrics on Lil Wayne’s Dedication 4 mixtape revealed that she is a Republican and voting for Romney. The line may have been blown out of proportion but in an age when personal information is just a Google search away, the 29-year-old was quickly exposed for her voting past, or lack thereof. As it turns out, in the three states where she’s lived, Minaj is not registered to vote. Having resided in Georgia, New York and California the Young Money Barbie never seemed to find the time to fill out and mail in a registration card, or do it online.

Ugh. She’s such a joke, you know?

  • Ooh! I have a real life example of a stupid Republican!
My sister in law, also a Mormon!
When she lived in Australia, she benefitted greatly from the health care here, for her and her children. More than anyone I know. Then she moves to Utah and is all up and all over Romney, and SO negative about Obamacare! My husband, her brother (not Mormon) points out how much she needed good health care once, but she just angrily slams Obama.
NOW! She just recently injured herself in a fall off her bike, and told us “I can’t go to the doctor. It’s too expensive.”
    *HEAD DESK*

    • Update on my stupid Republican sister in law! She is actually considering coming home to Australia for surgery on her shoulder, because it will be cheap, and yet she still insists Romney’s great and Obama’s the Debil!
If she comes home she will use a Medicare card she should not even OWN, to avoid paying American medical bills! Effing hypocrite!!

  • I have cancer and I can tell you it’s not that black and white (no pun intended?) when it comes to healthcare. She should stop wasting her time with politics and shift her celebrity to support cancer awareness & helping cancer patients receive help in other areas of life (money for food, gas, caretakers, child care, make up, wigs, etc). I really hate when people throw around cancer who have no idea was it’s like to live with cancer. Or people that rap about wasting money on booze and shoes when they can be donating that money to great causes and amazing programs that HELP millions of people.

  • kimmy, I too had cancer and COMPLETELY agree with you. I found out who my real friends were.

I live in mass and I’ve lived through the HELL that Romney put us through. He is the BIGGEST hypocrite. The healthcare he implemented here is EXACTLY THE SAME as what Obama came up with. If it’s so bad for America, why was it good enough for us in mass. Don’t get me started on the big dig either. He hired his cronies to work on it, they’re STILL fixing what Romney’s idiots did years ago. Not to mention HIS cronies were embezzling money. He spent most if his time obsessed with the olympics when they were in Utah. He didn’t even spend half his time as governor here, he was in Utah. He will NEVER win the white house. Only Romney could piss off 3 countries in 2 days.

  • Nicki Minaj was born in Trinidad and Tobago. She came to the USA at age 5. She may not be a US citizen, but a permanent resident? Wikipedia doesn’t say if she ever became a US citizen since she moved here with her mom.

If she’s not a US citizen, she can’t vote.

  • Sadly, free healthcare eventually means reduced quality care and people who can afford it going to private care. The problem people have with Obamacare is that the only way have everyone get the same care forever involves taking away choice. When people without money see others going private, they’ll want that too and it’s not possible except in utopia. I’ve lived in Britain for12 years before coming home, and I wouldn’t go to the NHS for anything. No real care and treated like you’re on a conveyor belt.

    • Oh PLEASE the NHS is brilliant, and so is the Sistema nacional de salud in Spain and every other universal healthcare in Europe. True, hospitals don’t look like hotels, but nobody dies due to lack of care. Don’t worry, stay in the US.

  • Having a private room after you have a baby is not too much to ask. I know I enjoyed being able to enjoy my first hours and days of parenthood with just my husband, parents and in-laws. If you can put away all of your personal desires to take whatever is given to you…fine. And I will stay in the U.S., mainly because its my home. I never said anything bad about any country.
