It seems like only yesterday that Zooey Deschanel announced she was knocked up by her boyfriend of a few short months and that they were going to tie the knot in what might be one of the most ill-conceived human decisions in history (not just for her, but for every couple that tries the shotgun wedding). Well, now she’s a wife again and that baby is here! Hurrah!

Zooey Deschanel and fiancé Jacob Pechenik welcomed a baby girl last week, and have been married in a secret ceremony.
Insiders said the bouncing bundle of joy was born in Austin, Texas, where Pechenik, a movie producer, is based.
A rep confirmed the news, saying Zoe and Jacob, had “a beautiful healthy baby girl.”
I mean, I don’t really get the whole, “Shit, I’m pregnant – we’re going to have to get married now!” panic that still pervades so much of society, but whatever. Hopefully this one works out for her better than her marriage to Ben Gibbard did.
Either way, at least they’ve got a cute daughter out of it! I guess you could say she’s the… “new girl” in their lives? Eh? Eh?
