Bill Cosby refuses to answer to “innuendos”

Bill Cosby

Sure, the list of women coming forward about their experiences of rape and other sexual abuse at the hands of Bill Cosby over the past four decades continues to grow, but until now, Bill himself has remained mum on the subject, barely bothering to shake his head (in bewilderment? guilt? stupidity?) or seeming outright dismissive about it. But now, the man himself has finally spoken up about why he won’t be addressing these women: it’s quite frankly because he refuses to address “innuendos”.

On Friday, Cosby told Florida Today he won’t respond to “innuendos,” referring to the women’s accusations.

“I know people are tired of me not saying anything, but a guy doesn’t have to answer to innuendos. People should fact-check. People shouldn’t have to go through that and shouldn’t answer to innuendos,” Cosby told the newspaper in a backstage interview before his sellout performance at the King Center for the Performing Arts in Melbourne.

I’m sorry, but I refuse to believe that a learned man like Dr. Bill Cosby – again, he has a fucking PhD. – doesn’t know the definition of the word “innuendo”. There is no innuendo involved – what we have are countless, detailed and explicit accusations of the hell this man put these women through. Don’t pretend you’re an idiot NOW – and certainly don’t treat US like we’re dumb enough to fall for your bullshit. Enough is enough.

  • Perhaps the Quaalude use has affected his brain. These women are not making innuendos nor are they lying. Most of them have nothing to gain by their disclosure. I have no doubt that they didn’t come forward earlier because they were afraid of his power, money and psychopathic tendencies.

I never spoke out (and may never) about my Father’s threats and abuses because he was tied into the White House, the Tri-lateral Commission and the Mob. He threatened to have me killed if I ever caused him problems. My silence does not confirm his innocence. It confirms my intelligence in a challenging situation.

  • I truly felt sorry for this man when his son died..and for that I still do (I cannot imagine losing a child). But it seems to me that Mr. Cosby is milking whatever he can (not his son, that was my note) however he can. As Archphoenix says above Mr. Cosby had to chose that word (innuendo) to minimize what victims are saying. It seems to me that Mr. Cosby is most upset by the fact that his legacy is being tarnished than anything else. I would think a man who has daughters would be especially sensitive to women being made into victims.

  • Perhaps the use of the work innuendo refers to there being no criminal charges pending. A way to discredit his accusers. With no formal charges to back it up the accusations lack validity (at least in his mind).

I’m not defending the man by the way, just speculating.
