I don’t think anyone would be particularly surprised to learn that Katharine McPhee‘s marriage to Nick Cokas has failed. After you get caught cheating on her husband in broad daylight with Smash co-star Michael Morris, there’s not much to do besides divorce, right? While it seemed like they might be trying to work things out in recent months, it’s a no go, and their relationship is officially over.
A rep for McPhee confirms exclusively to PEOPLE, “After six years of marriage, and having been separated for the past year, Katharine McPhee has filed for a dissolution of marriage from Nick Cokas. The two have an amicable relationship and will remain friends. They ask that people respect their privacy during this time.”
Well, there ya go. Also, still obnoxious that people getting divorced feel the need to insist that they’re still going to be friends. No the hell you aren’t, so knock it off. I can’t imagine it’s very amicable knowing that the person you thought you were going to spend your life with was brazen enough not only to go off with another man, but do it in public in the middle of the day with cameras around.
