Amanda Bynes Starts Fire In Old Woman’s Driveway — Is Sent To Hospital

Amanda Bynes has really done it this time. She pulled an Emily Valentine (original 90210 whatup) and started a fire in some random old woman’s driveway. Police were called, came to the conclusion of, “Yeah, this isn’t okay” and Bynes was finally sent to a hospital. Not for physical harm, but for an involuntary hold for mental health treatment and psychiatric evaluation. From The NY Post:

According to TMZ, the fire department responded to a Thousand Oaks, Calif. residence after someone noticed the blaze in the driveway. Bynes was allegedly found near the fire.

After questioning Bynes, deputies reportedly determined that she needed 5150 hold — which allows a qualified officer or clinician to involuntarily confine a person deemed to have a mental disorder that makes them a danger to him or herself.

The homeowner said she was unaware of the incident until cops knocked on her door. When they asked her, “Do you know anyone by the name of Amanda Bynes, or why she would have some vendetta against you?” She said no.

Cops described to her that a young lady lit the fire and was carrying a “little red gas tank” and that Bynes had allegedly burned part of her clothing.

Apparently, this isn’t even Bynes’ first time harassing the elderly.

In an earlier report, the troubled 27-year-old star was allegedly accused of trespassing a retirement home in the same neighborhood.

TMZ reports that Bynes was supposedly trying to get into a retirement community in Thousand Oaks, Calif. on Sunday.

Bynes, however, was reportedly turned away by management after they allegedly claimed she was drunk and accused her of trespassing.

Staff at the center are said to have called a taxi for Bynes but when she got into the vehicle, she allegedly told the driver, “Get me the [bleep] out of here…I don’t have any money.” The driver then booted her from the car.

Bynes grew up in Thousand Oaks but so far that’s the only tie she has to this area. It appears she did not know the woman. And clearly the woman did not know her. Previously Bynes’ friends, family, former co-workers, and total strangers have urged her to get help, but being an adult, they couldn’t force her into getting treatment. Maybe this mandatory hold, though temporary (it’s only for 72 hours then legally the patient can leave), will kickstart something else.

One more tidbit: apparently she was sent to the same hospital that Britney was  for her 5150, when she suffered a meltdown in 2008.
