Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Somebody Photoshopped Paris Jackson Already

So Paris Jackson got the latest cover of Glamour magazine, and aside from the blatant attempt at poor Photoshopping, the feature is pretty spunky and fun. Paris talks about her future career, what it’s like to be Michael Jackson’s daughter, and being bullied in school.

Here’s Paris on her family’s perspective of avoiding a career in the entertainment industry:

“A lot of people don’t want me to do it [her aunt Janet Jackson has said, “She has the rest of her adult life to be that actress that she wants to be.… Your childhood—you completely lose”], but Aunt La Toya believes in me. She heard me play a little guitar and sing, and she started clapping, ‘Oh my God, oh my God.’ She really does encourage me; it’s just awesome of her.”

On being the (alleged) offspring of Michael Jackson:

“I love my dad, and I’m proud to be his daughter. I just don’t think the title ‘M.J.’s daughter’ fits me. A lot of people think he’s the only reason I’m making it, but I want to show that I do have talent and that I can make it if I try. I want to be my own person.”

On refusing to conform to her classmates’ perception of “cool,” and its results:

“The clique in my class, they don’t like me or my friend because we’re outside of the box. We’re not copycats. Prince calls me goth, but I’m more rock ‘n’ roll. (I listen to older music like AC/DC; Phil Collins is the ish.) A ton of kids at school have made fun of me; if I had to give advice to other girls, I would say, ‘Hang loose and ignore them. They shouldn’t faze you no matter how popular they think they are.'”

So, she sounds like she’s pretty much got her head on straight, all things considered. You know, if you take away the fact that she is a Jackson, and try to forget about all of that money-grubbing and bitch-slapping, then there might be a girl here who’s got a slim chance of making it all on her own, successful, happy, and not troubled … but all of that Jackson business might just prove to work against her.

Good luck, girl!

Oh, and just for posterity? This is what Paris Jackson *actually* looks like:

  • How sad. This beautiful young woman is on the cover of a major magazine and there’s still a group of little bitches at school who ostracize her. I have high hopes for her, her perspective at her age is fantastic & I hope it carries her beyond her school years and into a successful future.

  • With that family history, she and her brothers need a lot of luck going forward. Hope they turn out somewhat normal.

  • Paris Jackson has turned out quite well. I love reading her tweets. She is vocal in her beliefs and doesn’t worry about what people think. She keeps it real. Although many people disagree with many things she says, she is not afraid of controversy. You don’t have to agree with the stance that she takes on different political issues, but you have to respect her, for even taking a position. She is not at all like the other Jackson’s who present one face to the public and do something else behind doors.
