Let’s talk hair, shall we? Ever since Amy Winehouse came on the scene a few years ago, I have been loving the idea of a beehive hairstyle. Amy’s look is a little bit too “unbeweavable” for my taste, but the beehives I’ve seen recently (like the one on J.Lo in these photos) are much more my speed. Last night I was out at a show in LA and I stopped a girl to ask her about her beehive ‘do. Her trick for getting all that volume? Homegirl had a sponge bobby pinned to her head that she wrapped her hair around. Innovative, inexpensive and pretty easy to do even if you’re kind of a hair klutz like myself.
What do you guys think of this style? I am loving the updated, modern and messy look J.Lo has going, but I’m sure it’s a bit much for many’s tastes…

Definitely not for me. But, I don’t think it looks bad. I can see the beehive getting squashed on the roof of my car when I’m driving. Also, I’m 5’10″ and a beehive coupled with my 4 inch heels would be a bit much, height-wise.

Love it! I use a hair piece to get this look…obviously for a night out at the theater or a wedding.
How thoughtful of her to provide a suitable home for any birds looking for somewhere to rear their young at this time of year.
It looks like she let her kids style her hair…
