This CNN video is obviously from earlier in the evening, before Michael Jackson’s death was confirmed.  Brian Oxman, family spokesperson, confirms that Michael had been abusing medications in epic proportions.

      • I know it’s completely inappropriate to even comment on a thing like that in a thread like this, but damn that was pretty funny, Donkey Punch. You kill me…

  • Who the fuck cares about how this child molester died? If he had molested little girls every one of you would have a different opinion.

He bought his way out of his crimes.

    • What he did was wrong, I agree. But you do have to remember that his view of the world was incredibly skewed. He lost any chance at a normal, decent childhood that he’d once had, and apparently, with it, he lost his sense of morality. That was something that his father is at fault for. I’m not saying that this excuses him from the repercussions of his actions, but you should certainly take that into account when you criticize him.

      • I feel the same where I cannot place all blame on a sexual offender who was a victim of abuse, sexual or not, themselves. I have been lucky to not suffer similar abuse and cannot say how I would react if something so horrible ever did happen to me. Now add on the fact that he was thrust into the spotlight at such a young age and stayed there his whole life, that in itself can make someone crazy and skew their reality.

Today I choose to mourn the passing of a musical genius. Tomorrow I will take his faults back into account, but for now I’ll dance around to P.Y.T. and hope that he has finally found peace as I send my best wishes out to his family.

      • Let’s all also remember that he was aquitted of all charges when put on trial for the allegations. No matter what anyone believes, he was never found guilty in a court of law. One must remember that when grouping anyone into the class of “sexual preditor or sexual offender.” Alot of lives are ruined and tainted because a person that is accused is convicted by the public regardless of any judgement found in the courts.

    • Personally, I don’t know why you think the opinions about him as a child molester would change if the sex of the children he molested were different. That’s kind of a silly statement – child molestation is child molestation, and if he did it, he was a terrible person. That doesn’t mean we can’t be shocked at the death of a musical icon.

      • Geez, Harriet Meadow. You and I don’t usually see things the same way, but I’m totally with you on that.

Add to that what kind of effect his questionable childhood had on him, and you have one very jaded soul. Looking at the whole big picture, it all makes sense in a fucked up kind of way. :( Just sad. I’m truly bummed out about this… actually cried a few tears about it at work when I heard it.

      • Yeah, I’m with you on this one. Children are children and abuse of children elicits the same response from me regardless of the sex of the child.

    • I grew up in the 80’s when he was king and so do not give a shit this has happened. I am completely with you DP, except I would add “freakish dopehead pill popping” to the child molester. I am the mother of a son and do care that he molested little boys.

  • oh boo fucking hoo. the world was rid of another child molester today. as someone who was sexually abused as a child, i am CELEBRATING that this freak will rot in hell. maybe he finally realized he needed to take his own life.

    • I actually agree, Olive. I was sexually abused as well and since he was outed as being a sex offender (convicted or not), he’s just been a sick freak of nature to me. I can’t get past that and see what the world is missing so much.

  • Yes, he made a huge contribution to the music industry. But I’m sorry, every time I saw him on television or online, it made me sick. I still can’t fathom the following he still had / has after he was exposed. So, maybe he was abused. But, he gets sympathy for that AND THEN has the privilege of buying his way out of any accountability for his malfeasance? WTF is that? I said it before and I’ll say it again, the folks that loved this person so much might not have minded leaving their child or other young loved one with him, but there is no way in hell I would. It is amazing to me how in the face of celebrity common sense just seems to fly out the damn window with so many people. It’s disturbing.

  • You know, you have to be pretty high on some shit to live that kind of life. My boss said he’s going to buy a “glove” and wear it to the bar when he goes out tonight… I just thought that was kinda funny.

  • Is it wrong of me to wonder how long it will be before a ‘tell-all’ book comes out? And is it wrong that I’m saving my pennies to buy it as soon as it does? I am ashamed…

    • His life was pretty out in the open though. Sure he went into semi-seclusion for a time but I don’t think anything would be earth-shattering or worth be buying a book. There will surely be a book though, no doubt.

      • I don’t know – seems as if there are things to tell from the standpoint of wives, plastic surgeons, siblings, victims, and lawyers that did not come out when he was alive. Someone out there has a book, ready for print – guaranteed.

  • Seriously. He was a pedophile. I’m not going to go and say “It’s great he died!” but I honestly don’t give a shit. I don’t agree with many of his actions. I love his music, don’t get me wrong, but it doesn’t change the things he did. The parents who sold their children to him are fucked up as well.
He had a rough childhood. Ok, how many other people did as well and didn’t child molest? That’s like saying all kids who grew up in the ghetto will be in gangs or are uneducated.

  • he did contribute to the world with his music…but music does not make the man. It is always a tragedy to lose someone you love and I feel for those who loved him…me..I am actually astonished that this did not happen sooner! Right now I feel sorrow for Farrah, and family, since she seems to to have picked the wrong day to die. She had her own contributions to the world…although not maybe not in a Lindsey, Britney, and Paris way, that everyone seems to thrived on

    • Whenever someone I’ll be sad about dies, it’s always with someone else. Last time it was Steve Irwin with the race car guy, Peter Brock?? Now MJ and FF :X

    • Maybe Farrah didn’t “pick the wrong day to die”. Maybe its a blessing that the media isn’t there in such force in their time of grief. We haven’t forgotten her. Things happen for a reason. Farrah and Michael died the same day. Now how will we ever forget her, whether we like him or not?

      • Exactly, I feel like it was a blessing in disguise for her family who are now probably able to mourn her in peace. The public has had a long time to come to terms with her death. It would never be as shocking as MJ’s because we have expected the news for some time now. Cancer is a horrible thing and I hope that she is now able to rest and be happy with the work she did while on this Earth to bring awareness to cancer research.

    • I hate when people say she “picked the wrong day to die”, because the people who truly mourn her are not going to mourn her any less. Do you really think it matters to her family if she doesn’t get her picture on the front of People Magazine? No, it doesn’t.

  • OMG. the biggest legend;(( I’ve really cried when I find out;( that’s wierd, yesterday almost all day I’ve been listening his songs…..
    LOVE MICHAEL FOREVER

    Poland Loves You….
    R.I.P

  • I can’t but wonder about his kids – clearly, they’re already going to need circus mask therapy but I wonder who will take care of them now? They always seemed like toys & props. hopefully they can go on to have some sense of normalcy.

  • wow…he was doped up on meds…didn’t see that one coming….loved his music…..hated his pedophilia (however thats spelled!) I mostly remember when he was huge in the early 90’s he was one of the first musicians i ever actually liked! that reminds me… i was walking back to my car in a walmart parking lot and a big SUV comes bounding past blasting Billy Jean and i’m actually parked next to the car and look in the suv and theres a huge 300 lb man in tears crying like a bibbling baby……thank you michael just for that experience…

  • There were a lot of freakish evil things going on in the Jackson family and the father Joe and mother Katherine and their family kept them quiet, other than throw a fit and speak out once in while then retract their confession or disgust to save the family name and fortune. I sincerely pray those orphaned kids don’t have to live with wicked gramps and grandma and the rival sibblings. Watch the patriachs and younger family losers go after anyone that will give them a dollar, even tho MJ was $400 mil in debt, he was their only meal ticket.. Sue Sue Sue. Janet, Rebbie and LaToya will finally tell the truth I hope.

  • The entire Jackson family is evil. LaToya is probably the most credible when it came to Michael’s penchant for little boys.
