Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Never. Going. Away.

MTV has just ordered four more seasons of The Real World. It’s already been on the air for seventeen years and filmed 22 cycles. They’ve also given the green light to four new seasons of Real World/Road Rules Challenge, extending that clusterfuck’s life to 21 cycles.

OMG.

Who are you people who are still watching this??? Watching The Real World now is kind of like eating McDonalds. I mean, I loved it as a kid, but today it just makes me nauseous.

  • I can’t get enough of those shows!

Please someone say they feel the same way so I don’t look like a loser.

      • Hey were youre parents MTV fans too?
You all could have been concieved while MTV was on…and now………The circle of LIFE! What? LOL

  • Real World/Road Rules challenge? Is there even a Road Rules anymore? I loved that show! I agree with Beet that The Real World is getting a bit ridiculous…

  • LOL, I didn’t know it was even still on! I used to watch that show all the time in middle school and high school (’96-’01).

  • Teenagers like them, and they always will. When you get older they aren’t as interesting because your tastes change. But there’s always a generation under you….

  • I LOVE the challenges!

The Real World show on the other hand is hit or miss…I would leave the tv on if it was on..but I don’t really seek it out or anything.

I am 22…I guess I am still a teenager at heart though. :)

  • I love the real world, I’m 20 and started watching 3 or 4 seasons ago- it’s addictive!!

  • the last season i watched in its entirety was new orleans. its been hit or miss since. morality is rapidly deteriorating with each season. once upon a time, they tried to cast people who had never heard of the show. now, not possible. its not as interesting now. now its just a bunch of kids getting drunk, fighting, and fucking.

  • The new Real World Brooklyn is sooo good! All the other seasons sucked & focused on all the coke head sluts & people fighting. This season has a really young veteran who just called back to Iraq… I cried. The casting is better & the focus of the show is more funny than dramatic. You should watch this season.

  • I stoped liking all reality shows that showcase a particular city once i started traveling and paying attention to how much the city that hosts these fools HATE the image the networks portray of thier home towns. Not to mention the nieghborhoods who hosts these jobless simpletons want to torch the productions vans with all the people inside.

They cause mess, ruckus, waste energy, and prevent people from going out in their world to live their own unproductive lives.
LIVE YOURE OWN LAME LIVES PEOPLE! Live in the now! ha ha ha!

MTV will give you the clap of the brain. STDS for yer brain!!!!

  • This Real World is WAY better than before. I’m not super younger but on the younger side of it I’m 26 and just started watching this season on a whim. The people aren’t just “hot” sloppy drunks anymore you have Ryan who joined the marines right out of high school and was just going to get his life started and he has been called back, Kaitlin who is a post op trangender, Chet is mormon, Baja is cool but slightly boring, JD is the gay guy, Sarah is someone is overcoming abuse from her father and working at a center to help children with issues through art, Then Scott and Devin are just there. Scott is really nice to all his roomates though even loaning $1500 to Kaitlin so she can stay. MTV should make more casts like this.

  • All the new generations of teenagers watch these shows!

And theres not even a road rules anymore!

  • i was living in new orleans when they were filming their season there and the hoo-ha surrounding the filming was soooo obnoxious. lots of places wouldn;t let them film inside, people would shout “the real world sucks!” to ruin takes, etc. i haven’t watched the show in years, but i have some suggestions for locations:
return to new orleans – the lower 9th
    detroit
    fargo
    rochester, ny
    mars

  • The best show MTV has is Ru-Pauls Drag Race, it has a whole lot more interesting people on it than Real World. If you want drama queens, you might as well watch real ones!
